“That... seems a bit ridiculous, but then again, I haven’t met any other than Idhaenna personally. A goddess like that would probably be as kind as Gaia, though.”


“It’s not a permanent thing, I mean without changing element.”

“Makes it hard to prep. Seeing a knife beat a gun-user, though... that’s a spectacle.”

Sgavrinn scoops you up and helps you keep up.
“Everyone just calls me ferret! I forgot my name!” He says, picking up the pace, somehow, as he bolts towards the city.

 

"Wait up!"
He dashes after the ferret, getting a little tired.

"I'm.. not in shape."

 

“Certainly. Say, do they not allow anything in the arena?”

 

You're on Sgavrinn's back.
"It's a long ways there, though!" It protests, not slowing down.

"Not except for in fights, because it'll just get sent off to Oblivion and you'll never see it again."

 

"She's really nice. We've tried making a shrine for her here, but there isn't enough space or other faeries." Sel says, sounding a little down.


"I'd rather just stick with what we have; it'd probably be safer for the guards." I say.

 

"That's a shame. I'd think fae would thrive just about anywhere, after seeing what magic could do."


"Fair enough." Ihra shrugs, glancing at Claire uneasily.
"On the topic of Claire... you never explained why I shouldn't let the servants in that mansion live."

 

"Not really, it's actually quite hard for a faerie like me to thrive here." Sel says.


"They were going to abuse my powers." Claire suddenly says ominously.

"They knew what was going on in there, and I don't doubt they'd try to continue it. Why do you think I have Claire so heavily guarded?" I ask.

 

(I did not know that.)
"We'll try to keep up, okay. Sorry."

 

“Well, I don’t think I can do that, so I should be fine.”

 

"Hostile environment?"


"I'm still annoyed you decided to just blow up the locals with everyone else, but how do you know they're in on it too? They seem so... stupid to know about something that complicated."

"As long as you don't leave anything important in the arena, you should be fine."

"Don't apologize, go faster!" It says cheerily, somehow picking up the pace even more.

 

"Oh, for god's sake."

He pets Sgavrinn on his head while holding on tight.
"I'm feeling sorry for you, Sgavrinn."

 

Sel nods.


"Oh please, I only blew up like a small portion of their town. It was always a risk before I got there." I say.

 

“I’ll remember not to.”

"People seem more scared than hostile, from what I saw. What am I missing?"


Ihra pauses.
"...Wait, you said it was a village. What gives?"

"Just a matter of cleaning up after yourself when the arena resets."

Sgavrinn lets out a whine, annoyed but able to speed up a bit.

"You might wanna slow down, we're almost there!" It says, still running.

 

"Now you wanna slow down?!"

*sigh*
"Well, you heard him Sgavrinn."

 

"You're bigger than me, you'll smash a house or something!"

The ferret finally starts slowing down, though Sgavrinn is more than happy to slow down much faster, though he skids a bit which almost flings you off his back.

 

“Once again, won’t be too hard.”
He breaks eye contact to look over himself and his equipment.

 

"You're tired, aren't you? Well, you can calm down now."
He pets Sgavrinn. A lot.

 

"Scared people tend to lash out." Sel says.


"So you wouldn't become even more overprotective." I say.

 

"Alright. Well, good luck. Don't let the whole process of getting in perturb you."

"Scared of fae?"


Ihra rolls her eyes.
"You know what, no. Bye. I'm letting those servants go." She mumbles, turning to leave.

When the ferret finally comes to a complete stop, Sgavrinn just sort of flops on his side, dumping you off as he breathes heavily.
