"Which is why I specified that it was probably a projectile. It's not that he didn't want to hurt the robots, I just don't think he cared."

 

"We care. How do you know he doesn't mean any harm?"

The houses are all built on the side of the mountain, and there are a few more houses in the explorable area that have holiday lights on. Others are covered in vines, and one stands out as having no exterior decorations whatsoever, not even having trimming.


"Ow..." Ihra complains, looking for another guard to give the crystal to.

"Oh... I guess Nineteen failed an emotions check."

 

Sel tries to investigate the one without exterior decoration.


Katie picks herself up, before offering Ihra a hand up. Another guard already seems to be picking up the guard's crystal.

 

"I think he broke out before they could do many tests."

 

She can't zoom in much further, but from the window she can see a silhouette that looks similar to Pozel, but in a meditative position.
"Oh, that's Arch. He's a really old Auto, I think a Gen 2. So outdated, he can't be upgraded, so he just lies dormant except on his birthday. That's the only time he ever comes out of standby."


Ihra accepts Katie's help, using her staff as an extra boost.

"Is there any data left intact over there?"

 

"Yeah. I've recently got a portal set up there."

 

"What's standby like?" Sel asks.


Katie follows Artemis, Abigail and myself into the palace, though splits off once inside.

 

"I... don't know. Some say it doesn't feel like anything, some say it's like a dream. Some have found their key to awakening, but only full Autos can enter standby."


Ihra winds up following Katie, yawning every now and then.

"You planning to go back and check for any clues on what happened?"

 

Sel tries to imagine what it might be like, before looking rather scared.


Katie leads Ihra to an elevator, before teleporting her to a familiar carpeted hallway of doors.

 

"Cause I've known him for quite a while. He means no harm to anyone."

 

"Not really. I don't really care."

 

"Hey, don't worry about it. Your days aren't numbered by a battery."


Ihra's already asleep by the time the duo gets there.

"How do you know? Does he talk?"

"Shame. I'm curious about what really happened."

 

"You're welcome to visit any time you'd like. It's labeled as 'Thirteen's Lab' in the Shadow Palace's portal room."

 

"That sounds even worse." Sel says, shivering.


Katie picks Ihra up with a slight struggle, carrying her to one of the vacant bedrooms and putting her in it's bed.

 

"No he doesn't. He's never hurt someone intentional, atleast for as long as I've known him."

 

"What does she look like I mean? Describe her."

 

"I'll think about it. The shadows aren't fond of me."

"So he has hurt someone before..."
Pause.
"We'll let him in, but if he hurts anyone, we're killing him."
Sgavrinn whines a bit.

"...And now I'm going to ask why you want to know."

"That's why he sits in standby all the time. Stretch the battery life out."


As per usual, she wakes up a few hours later.

 

"Oh? I heard you were just talking to Aj."

 

"Doesn't make them fond of me."

 

"Fair enough."
