"Why not? Scared of talking to an AI?"

"...Why didn't you just teleport away last night?"

 

"U-Uhm, y-yes!" Sel says, scared.

"I'm not too fond of it either. An AI tried to kill us both once." Kia says.

 

"...Okay, I guess. Gil?"

 

"I can't teleport in the spiritual plane."

 

"Ah, that'd do it. Can't swim either, I guess?"

 

I look at him, then at the water, then back at him.



"So anyway, what's your name?"

 

"No thanks." Gil declines, trying to be polite.

 

"Rlimir. You?"

Pozel just nods.

 

Kia and Sel fold up the now empty newspapers, putting them back in their bag.

Gil taps his small fingers on the tabletop idly.

 

"Rebecca." I reach out to shake his hand.

 

“You didn’t happen to make any portals to my place, did you?”
He asks, taking the pick out of his mouth.

 

"No. Am I the first one you're blaming?"

He accepts the handshake.
"Not often one comes across a demon and doesn't die. So... you wanted to know about the city down there?"

Pozel smiles a bit as Kia and Sel fold up the papers, though he soon turns and reveals that he's watching something through his hololens.

 

"Who's that?" Gil asks.

 

"Stella." He says, before shaking his head slightly and turning to Gil before turning back.

 

"Is something wrong?" Sel asks, slightly worried.

 

“Sorta.”
He puts the pick back in his mouth.
“See, there was this fuckin’ kid... at least I think he was a kid, I dunno, he looked like a kid, but he only had skin from the top of his nose upwards but, he didn’t have a nose- whatever, the point is, he got into my personal dimension and I don’t know how. And I’m peeved, now.”

 

"No, I'm just talking to Stella and she thought my response to Gil was me about to ask her something else."

"Filters aside, I don't know who you're in reference to or how."

 

“Whut?”
He asks, having been a bit zoned out after ranting.

 

"Oh, ok." Sel says.

Kia picks up the bag with the newspapers, flying them out of the kitchen.

 

"I don't know who did it or how they did it. What you're describing doesn't make me recall anyone."

Pozel just stands around, occasionally smiling or frowning, sometimes looking cross.
