Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yet, they are. They'll look the same, act the same, feel the same, and love you or hate you the same. Of course, they always have the choice to let themselves go."

 

"Here we go!"
He holds on tight to Sgavrinn.

 

You start to get covered in dirt, then you and Sgavrinn fall into what seems like a path to an underground castle.

He hums happily after shaking the dirt off his face.

 

"Only one to go."

He walks forward, into the tunnel.
"You coming too?"

 

He nods, following you after shaking.

 

"That's not the same as being the same though!" Sel says passionately.

"Surely someone like you would know nothing can replace the original thing." Kia asks, raising an eyebrow.

 

"So.. what is this place?"

 

"You have me there." He shrugs.

He shrugs, sniffing around the edge of the path.

 

"So, you looking into dark magic since you're here?" Kia asks, temporarily cloaking herself in shadow.

 

"No, just magic in general. Teleportation, phasing handcuff links, that sort of stuff. Never seen any of it."

 

"You don't know how to teleport?" Sel asks, surprised.

 

"Not via magic. I teleport by digitizing my body, sending each bit to another coordinate, and reconstructing my body in the new location."

 

"Couldn't you be intercepted? Or re-construct over someone?" Kia asks.

 

"Intercepted, possibly. Reconstruct over someone, no. Interception is military grade tech, though."

 

"I've met quite a few people here that can intercept a simple signal like yours." Kia says.

 

"I see no technology here that can intercept it. I would just fry it en route. It's encoded with a few nasty viruses and five layers of encryption, each unique to the individual who's warping."

 

"How do the viruses not effect you?" Sel asks.

 

"They're deployed by me when I initiate the warp. It's like putting spikes on your shield."

 

"That seems kind of a douchey move to infect everyone's computer then." Kia says.

 

"What? No, it's localized. It doesn't affect anything unless someone tries to intercept me. Even then, if they don't have the exact cipher to do it, their tech is fried and I'm none the wiser."
