"So you're saying he wouldn't like you doing this?"

 

"No, I'm not saying that at all. Father said Mother was a Death Guardian, and they worked as a pair. Is it not right for me to experience both sides of the coin that is my existence?" Artemis says defiantly.

"So, what you're saying is, this is your angsty goth stage and "You don't get me!"?" Abigail asks, smirking.

 

"Fair point. Sorry."
"Don't drink my blood."

 

"I don't plan to continue drinking your blood." Artemis says, winking.

"Now I'm concerned." Abigail says.

 

Ihra groans.
"At least don't drink Sgavrinn's blood. He did nothing to you."
"Ihra, relax."
"I CAN'T!!"

 

"I would never drink the blood of such an adorable thing!" Artemis says, walking over to, and hugging, Sgavrinn.

"Shall I get Katie to come and give you a chill pill?" Abigail asks, turning to Katie's direction.

 

Sgavrinn hums happily.
"It still scares me, but it's nice to know my rider won't eat me!"

Ihra nods at Abigail.

 

Abigail wanders off toward Katie, returning a short while later followed by her.

"Here you go, Ihra." Katie says, handing Ihra a small, blue pill.

"I think it's awesome you can make those." Abigail says, smiling at Katie.

"Why is Aj unconscious?" Katie says, looking at my unconscious body with concern.

 

"Wait what."
She throws it at Artemis anyways.

 

"It's a chill pill...meant to chill you." Katie says.

Abigail smirks at Ihra.

The pill bounces off Artemis and shatters on the ground, freezing a small patch.

 

"Probably Brisingr and the Darklands, as that is the only place where no roads are near to the coast on a border."

 

"Okay...?" Ihra still doesn't get it.
Rineth groans.

I just realized, we're starting from nothing. We'll need something to trade... Ugh, this is tough."

 

"Huh."
I say, a bit nervous.
"Wonder why that is..."

"Learning what chilling was might have been helpful, but it's a social thing."
I say to Ihra.

 

"Combine both the Infernal beast and the Cloud Dragon. I'd assume that clouds are flammable."

 

"In fairness, weaponized tomes aren't usually packed with social norms, especially those of other societies. I'm trying."

"Not that'll you'll die trying to learn social norms, it's just a quote."

 

"Weird. That person probably didn't see the front lines of a war."

I comment.

 

"Also, how would you even die that way? Forget to breathe or something?"

 

Damn it... I don't get anything. I better go get some sleep though.
