Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Pozel looks around Eve's chambers a bit before stepping towards the door.
"Well, are you particularly busy, or would you be willing to show me around a bit? Or, at least where to start, if nothing else."

 

I look at her, having not moved.
“Are you okay?”

 

"Yeah. I'm going to ask Rema about that when I see her again."

 

"I forgot I wasn't at home."

Yeah. Probably better to ask the magic dragon for advice with magic stuff. Not like we're mages or anything.

 

"I could show you around some nice areas of the palace." Eve says, following in Pozel's movement.

 

“Ah.”
I nod.
“In that case, are you ready to continue?”

 

"I'd appreciate that." He says, nodding as he slows down a bit to let Eve take the lead.

"Give me a minute to get things sorted out in my head." She sighs, looking at the floor for a while.

 

Eve heads out of her chambers, heading to the elevator at the front of the robotics lab.

 

Pozel keeps pace.
"What's it like to be a citizen here, do you know?"

 

“Alright.”
I nod, giving her time.

 

She takes a few breaths before breaking out into a coughing fit and spitting out a piece of cloth, looking at it and then shaking her head, then gets up and heads towards you.

 

"I'm not really sure. I haven't experienced life as a citizen." Eve says, heading into the elevator.

 

Pozel nods, staying near Eve.
"On a side note, the one really nice thing I see here is that there's no corporations dedicated to experimenting on sentient things. At least the CEO subjects himself to everything, but... not like that changes what he does."

 

"What do you mean?" Eve asks, curious.

 

I find a light colored piece of bark to write a note on.
Dear kind fisherman, I appreciate the gesture but I would also appreciate it if you didn't try an carve your own spot into my life. I tend to stay by myself for a reason. Also, you left your pen here.
I attach the note to the boat which I row back to shore.

 

"So, my entire race pretty much universally wants to take down a corporation called Galsche Laboratories. Their CEO, Mr. Galsche - because what egomanian doesn't name their own company after them - does research on nanotech and communication tech. Most notoriously, the effects on sentient beings. Human, others of my kind, you name it. If it can communicate and has been to space, it's subjected to lethal amounts of radiation and worse. I think the only reason they're still around is that the CEO joins every test subject in every test they go through."

He's waiting there, working on a smaller boat.
"Thanks for my boat back. Figured you might need your own in case you go on any other midnight adventures." He says, carving out an oar.

 

"Nope, just a werewolf."

He turns around and looks at everyone inside the cave. "Think it's about time for us to sleep?"

 

"What is he?" Eve asks.

 

"Teregecygian. You can kind of just kill them over and over and they'll reform over time."

Yeah, I'm tired. Come on, let's go. Don't wake up randomly this time, alright? I need some beauty sleep too.

 

"Hm. That sounds like a concept that was never finished for myself, the ability to reform through transmutating other matter." Eve says, teleporting herself and Pozel to the Shadow Palace library.
