"Then I'll reach out to her tonight. Hopefully I'll have good news for you come morning."

 

"I'll wait for it then. Thanks." He nods.

 

Eve doesn't say anything for a moment, just looking at Pozel.

"Can you cast magic? Or are you unable to?" Eve asks.

 

"I've never tried. I've never actually seen a mage, or any magic other than portals." He shrugs. "I just live in a world of tech."

"No problem."
He lays back down, still weary.

 

"Now what?" He thinks to himself.

 

"That's really strange. So you don't use any elemental magic?" Eve confirms.

 

Figure out what you're going to do for sleep, maybe. The stone geound hurts.

 

"I'm bored, I don't know what to do. Nothing really eventfull happens here."

 

"No, nothing. I mean, we've got stuff like arkships that can carry an entire planet's population around for a few decades if need be, and we've got AI that can perfectly emulate a biological being, but no magic." He says. "It's hard for things to not seem slightly primitive when you're used to machines that can relocate entire solar systems."

Maybe brave the kids again?

 

"Aren't you stepping into the territory of a god?" Eve asks.

 

"Yes. Well... not me, specifically. Tribal living for my family, but yes. We have Idhaenna's support in most research and development."

 

"That seems...bad." Eve says.

 

"How so?" Pozel asks, more curious than offended.

 

"Well, with the power to match a god's, you may end up like our advesary, The Hive Master. There are certain limits that should not be breached, for the wellbeing of yourself and others." Eve says.

 

"Why should I? They're finally sleeping, or atleast calm."

 

"I understand that sentiment. That's why some boycott the tech, but Idhaenna has a say in everything along with the final word in just as much. I'm pretty sure that everything that emulates her powers is made by and for her and her alone. I've personally never seen any of those machines, but the rumors are widespread."

Why don't you go look for yourself?

 

"Just be careful where you tread. Our universe had a realm wiped out and reset for advancing too far." Eve says.

 

"Fine. Why not."
He heads in the direction of the children.

 

Pozel nods.
"I understand. That's why some of my people go silent and leave for Gaia's domain. Still, it's nice to meet you. You've got quite a name for yourself around Idhaenna's palace, and every palace if rumors are true."

They seem to all be stuck because they can't fly yet, a fairly large step down needed to get to them as they mill about and wrestle each other.

 

"Yeah, not going in there."
