Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie thinks for a while, before throwing down a small black sphere that pops when it hits anything, letting off a sound like a gunshot.

 

"Behavior pattern suggest attempted irritation. Scanning for alternative ways to end attempted irritation..." It says, scanning Shadow Stephanie again as it starts to move towards the portal to the Shadow Realm.

"Okay... I don't get how you're supposed to keep track of all these places, though. I guess you are a robot..."

 

Shadow Stephanie dodges the scan this time, moving extremely fast.

 

She winds up going straight into another scanner, and once she does, the bee turns hard and goes straight through the portal to the Shadow Palace.

 

"I don't know all of the places that the Shadow Palace has a portal to. There's only a few in the Void Palace."

 

Shadow Stephanie whistles loudly, and a small army of guards rise up to stop and try to push the bee back.

 

The bee winds up easily overpowering all of them, but stops after just a few feet from the portal.
"Protocol for resistant allies yields an empty file. Query; why don't you just say why you don't want me here?"

"Oh... well, maybe you can ask one of the shadows later?"

 

"I don't intend to. There's far too many for me to care about, and even if I cared, I don't have to ask a shadow, they have an A.I. set up for granting portal access."

 

"On the request of the queen." One of the guards barks, Shadow Stephanie jumping down.

 

"Why does she not respond to my queries?"
Pause.
"Oh... dear, she was the target subject all along. How I hate corrupted data..."

"A... what? You know... never mind. I'm still wrapping my head around these portals."

 

"Artificial Intelligence."
I point to myself.

 

"You got a better idea then?"

 

Shadow Stephanie heads inside the palace as the guards stand ready to stop the bee again.

 

"Well, I need to retrieve either her or some Shadow Aj. Lady Idhaenna angry has been shown to cause an average of fifteen additional lost lives in comparison to compliance."

Notice how I'm just complaining.

"Let's just leave it at 'it's beyond me' and call it a day."

 

"You shall not." One of the guards says, serious.

 

"Yes. And you said Anne complained a lot."

 

"Let's."
I nod, then start heading towards the gate.

 

We outside yet?

 

"If I do not, Lady Idhaenna will. This has been marked as a priority one assignment, though I think it foolish to go chase after biological beings to reward them when I could be aiding with repairs."

No, you're not, which is risky.

She follows, calming down a fair bit.

Maybe that's why you're meant to be together.

 

"Reward? With what?" The guard asks, suspicious.
