Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I follow her casually.

 

She waits for you to enter first as she reaches the portal, focus clearly on the bee.

 

I go on through.

 

Shadow Stephanie notices, looking a little confused, though she keeps trying to distract and confuse the bee by doing seemingly random sets of movements based on rhythm.

 

She goes through almost with you, bumping against you as she practically lunges through.
"...I hate that bee thing already."

 

"I wouldn't worry about it."
I shrug.

 

The bee doesn't seem to mind, scanners sweeping over Shadow Stephanie.
"You have proven not to be mute. Is a bodily cleansing requred to reboot subject's communication module?"

"Stop ignoring me, Steph..." Emerald urges. "Do not say yes to that, either..."

"How can you not? It has six of those gun things! What happens if one just goes off, or it just decides it doesn't like you?"

 

Shadow Stephanie starts making clicking noises, crab walking over the bee.

 

"Make sure that doesn't happen. Guns don't often go off accidentally, and you usually wouldn't point a gun at anything you don't already have a negative disposition to. As for it not liking me... I try my best for most things to at least stay neutral about me."

 

The bee turns a needler on Shadow Stephanie.
"Confirm or deny permissions to begin cleansing. Automatic confirmation in ten seconds."

"S-still... how do you know it's not against us and just making a mess of things as a distraction?"

 

Shadow Stephanie starts shaking her hips from side to side, before jumping around.

 

I shrug.
"For one, Emerald would've taken care of it if it was a big deal, and two, it'd probably shoot me before I can take it down, so I'm just going to give it the benefit of the doubt."

 

It follows Shadow Stephanie nigh perfectly with the barrel.
"Resisting. Increasing countrate. Seven, six, five..."

Emerald shows up, exasperated.
"No, deny! Deny, deny, deny!"
"You are not the subject."
"I don't care, no shooting in here, I told you!"
Pause.
"...Databanks confirm denial of permission involving action: firing in library."

She doesn't respond, nervous.

 

Shadow Stephanie starts cartwheeling around the bee, before doing a backflip and summoning a gun in her hands, pointing it at the bee's head.

 

"If it shoots something good, I'll gladly take part in hitting it. There's no need to start anything right now, though."

 

The bee scans the weapon, looking for what kind of gun it is and if it's loaded.

"It seemed all over the place, anyways." She mumbles. "Anyhow... how many portals are in this place?"

 

"The Shadow Palace? More than the Void Palace. A lot more."

 

It seems to be a standard pistol, though it's missing it's ammunition.

 

The bee ignores it, seeming to go idle before it stops pointing the needler at Shadow Stephanie.

"There's even more? Oh, god... why are there so many?"

 

"Don't fret, we're only going through one more."
