Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I don't know. I'm just hoping for the best, nothing more I can do. I'm not a wizard or something."

 

It resembles a tiny throwing knife, a bit of electrified fluid in a small carrying tank, the fluid slowly leaking out the point of the dagger. It arcs a bit to the guard's armor, but any shocks go harmlessly to the ground.

But you kinda know wizards. Well... hey, can't you fly in your crazy dream body thing?

 

The guard puts it on the ground and smashes it under his boot.

 

It releases a fairly large amount of blue sparks that quickly fizzle out.

 

The guard crunches what remains before going back to his duty.

 

The needle doesn't break into any more pieces, rather getting lodged into the ground.

 

The guard just ignores it.

 

"Probably. It's my dream, I can do what I want. I've never tried it though."

 

"Oh yeah. It is."

 

"For things to have sentimental value? Yes. And the book does."

 

Nobody else comes by.

"What if you flew over? Can't spirits go through walls and stuff?"

"Someone told me feelings are hard to give a robot. Why's that, if you were a prototype but have feelings?"

"You fixing it up or something?"

 

"You mean all the way over to the island?"

 

The guard just stays on duty.

A while later, Shadow Stephanie shows up in the void palace library, looking around at the books.

 

"Feelings are hard to give a robot. But, if you're going to make a robot the least robot-like as possible, you're going to want to start with that."

 

"No. It's more of a temporary living space."

 

The books have some seal over them, the sound of needlers and railguns going off nearby.

"You one of those nomad people?"

Yeah, why not?

"I still don't understand why it's difficult. What's difficult about it?"

 

"Well, it's artificial feeling... actually, how much do you know about the creation of electronics?"

 

"I don't know what electricity is, other than it makes things work with wires." She shrugs. "Not like I've had a chance to use it or see it in use much out here."

 

"I'd show you, but I'd rather not cut myself right now."
I admit.
"But imagine trying to make a functional brain to put into a dead creature so it can live. It's about as complex as that."

 

"I don't know if it is to wise to wander to far from my body."
