Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The cloaked Shadows head through, looking for Xlentia.

 

She's hiding under her gold pile, spreading some black goo around with her claw.

 

The Shadows simply wait for her to emerge.

 

She doesn't, tapping her claw and sighing after a few minutes.
"...Mistress?"
"Hmm? Did they actually send someone?"
"Several cloaked shadows are in your room, so I'd say they did."
Xlentia moves partway out of her gold pile, looking around.
"...Where?"
"They're cloaked, silly."
"Oooh, right."

 

"I'm gonna throw up."

 

"Can you hold it down for another twenty seconds? We're passing by the guard captain's room, now's a bad time to get sick."

 

One of the Shadows opens a hand and waves slightly from their cloak, though their face remains hidden by the dark cloak.

 

She turns to them.
"Three crystals got clawed, as well as the mural. I figure I can find someone to do a patch-up job." She shrugs.

 

"We can fix the crystals." One of the cloaked Shadows says softly.

 

I try to hold it in.

 

"Why the hushed tone? Only my guards'll hear you if you keep that up." She says, turning to expose one of the crystals.

You make it twenty seconds.
"...Got you in the bathroom. Get out. Hurl."

 

He stays quiet, regretting what he just said.

 

The Shadows don't respond, heading over to the crystal and working on fixing it.

Xlentia can just barely hear whispers between the cloaked Shadows.

 

"If what you said was true, the soldiers at the Galer village were just skirmishers. Surely this wouldn't facilitate a war and subsequent death against myself and my people?"

 

Something records the conversation, Emerald listening in remotely.

"What would they have to fight for? They're coming down here, anyways..."

Anne shifts over towards you.

Hey, blame it on the beast. You've been crazy lately.

 

I throw up in the closest thing with a drain.

 

That would be the floor, to which the janitor simply sighs and unclips a small bag from his supply cart.
"I didn't even know spirits or souls could throw up."

 

The Shadows just seem to be discussing their own fears of Xlentia, based on a rumor about Xlentia eating the royalty whole once.

 

"Maybe it's time to change back." He thinks to himself.

 

"You learn something new everyday."
