"Are you ever gonna let me meet them?"


"Nobody believes it's my birthday."
"Please don't question her over it, I'm already sick of dealing with her."

Gaia links with Tenebrae.
"Lady Tenebrae, why are your children so much more hostile than usual? I just want to give them flowers and let them know I feel bad for them, but here they are at my home threatening my adviser." She says, annoyed."

 

"Sure! But...they're not due home for a while..." Katie says, sounding a little sad.


"They have lost many of their own recently. They may not be in the most receptive mood for extravagant gifts and playfulness." Tenebrae responds.

 

"Oh... that's too bad."


"What's extravagant about flowers?"

 

Katie sits in her pool of salty water, swirling the sand about between her toes.


"Some may not perceive things the same way you do." Tenebrae responds.

 

"Oh. Romantic." He smiles.

 

Spring opts to go get a slightly closer look at the other people in the water.


"Oh, okay..."

Gaia opens a portal back.
"I'm sorry, I hate tragedies ruining my day. You can go home, I won't give funeral flowers since you don't want then." She sighs, mood dampening.
"Lady Gaia?"
"...Oh, yes, if you would please let my advisor go, I'd appreciate it."

"Well, I'd kiss you now, but you'd be lit up."

 

They seem to be child to teen-aged humans playing about in the water, a few adults either seeing how far out they can swim or playing water sports.


The guard holding Miorah lets her go, and the guards leave through the portal.

"You don't know what we've lost." The last guard says with a serious tone, staring Gaia right in the eyes before leaving, the portal being forced shut.

 

Spring heads back over near Katie and looking for other coins buried in the sand.


Gaia glances at Miorah, a bit put off.

Miorah's body at the palace glances at the guards as they return.
"She doesn't know, but my guess is that you lost a good chunk of your people to parasitic mimics who were feeding a mother creature below your dungeon."

 

"So you knew I was gonna come back."

 

"Well, we don't have any maps in here, and I figure you weren't keen on getting caught. Common sense, really."

 

"And there are others nearby." He says while looking at the centaurs.

 

"We're not employed, nothing wrong with public displays of affection."

 

Spring manages to find a few shiny rocks and pretty shells, though she doesn't find a coin for a while. She eventually comes across a 50 silver coin though.


"What do you know about the mimics!?" One of the guards asks, readying their weapon.

 

She's more interested in the shells, bringing them back to Katie's sand castle wall and decorating them a bit.


"You think it's some great secret?" Miorah sighs. "Whatever, guess you'd just drop dead talking to Emerald... or Alice, I might want your names for later. As a servant of Gaia, I'd be unworthy of the name if I couldn't identify creatures by life force and soul, both living and passed."

 

"Okay. But still.." He smiles.
He looks back at Anne.
"..I don't want to get burned."

 

"I don't want to burn you either, which is why we're going to look for a fire resistance charm later."

 

Katie smiles happily as she keeps building the wall.


The guards all glare at Miorah.

"You won't be getting them." The guard says sternly.

 

"Not from you, I won't be." Miorah shrugs, turning and starting to walk towards the city.

 

"You can buy those somewhere? I don't know."

 

"Magic shops and stuff."
