Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The portal fully closes just as Alice finishes speaking.

 

She slowly finishes her tea, letting out a sigh as she enjoys the scenery.

 

A few birds chirp in the trees, and the water splashes down the waterfall soothingly.

 

She lets herself drift off to sleep.


Spring taps Katie's shoulder.
"Hey... if there were a bunch of dead people, why isn't there a mess?"

 

"I think the parasites ate them or something." Katie says as she walks through the Shadow Palace hallways.

 

"But wouldn't the parasites make a mess when they were killed?"

 

"Maybe Eve vaporised them? Or cleaned them up?" Katie shrugs.

 

"Wow, Eve works awful fast." Spring says, looking a bit entranced at the thought.

 

"Yeah, she's really powerful." Katie says as she approaches the throne room doors, only to be blocked by one of the large guards outside it.

"Hold on 'Katie', you can't just waltz in without us knowing it's you." The guard says sternly.

"Huh?" Katie asks, before being possessed by the guard, a look of shock on her face as it happens. The guard looks Katie over, checking her double trident over before appearing by the door again, Katie falling to her knee.

"Alright, you're safe." The guard says, opening the one of the doors for Katie.

"T-Thanks." Katie says, shaking a little as she enters.

The guards keep a stern eye on Spring.

 

Spring hugs Katie's trident tightly, terrified.

 

"...Underground city?"

 

"Yeah. Neat, huh? Some of it underwater, some of it underground. Got a good million people down here."

 

"...how long has this been here?"

 

Katie looks up at Shadow Stephanie sitting on her throne.

"Are you ready to go now?" Katie asks.

Shadow Stephanie looks toward Katie.

"Hm? Oh, right. Yes, I'm ready. We can go." Shadow Stephanie says.

Shadow Stephanie teleports over to Katie, becoming smaller as she smiles.

 

He heads back to Anne and sits down next to the centaurs.

 

"I dunno, longer than I've been around." They shrug.

She reduces the size of her fire so you don't get singed as much by the flickering flame.
"It's super cold here, isn't it?"

Spring loosens her grip, calming down a bit.

 

"Can you show me it?"

 

Shadow Stephanie accompanies Katie as she leaves the throne room, heading to an elevator.

 

"Nah, I'm fine."

He turns to the centaurs.
"What about you too? Are you cold?"

 

"I mean... I can, but the guards probably wouldn't be fond of it."

Spring stops freaking out and returns to sitting on Katie's trident, looking around at the palace as she's carried around.

"We were, until this fox turned herself into a campfire."
"You know her?"
