Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Nobody's tried to kill me yet. Besides, I'm sure pulse rifles are just shoot-target, target-dies."

 

"Yeah, I'm doing fine. Both of us."

 

"You just cold? Haven't seen you in beast form this long."

 

"So you can kill things?" I ask.

 

"I hope I can, I just haven't." She shrugs. "I do have access to experimental weaponry from the Void Palace, if I really wanted to kill something."

 

"You see, that is what worries me." I say.

 

"If I were you, I'd be more worried about me black hole-ing the palace or Earth than some stupid gun."

 

"Yeah, but so can I, Shadow Stephanie and Eve." I say, shrugging.

 

"Which is why I don't get why you're worried."

 

"Because it's another possible threat." I say.

 

"Do you really have that little faith in me?"

 

"No, I don't think you'd ever black hole either places, but it's the fact that you could do it, even if you never do, that worries me." I say.

 

Alice glares at you before dropping the subject.
"How many casualties?"

 

"Tens of thousands." I say.

 

"Fuck... how many saved?"

 

"About a third to a fifth." I say.

 

Alice growls before sighing.
"...I give up. I'm done. Nevermind about the job, never mind about the deal. I should've have spoken up instead of minding my own business." Alice groans. "I'm sorry I didn't just keep nagging you when I quit. This whole mess is my goddamn fault!" She grunts, suddenly riled up.

 

"It's not your fault. The mimics where there long before you arrived. It's my own ignorance that lead so many people to being infected," I sigh, "If I had taken this role of king more seriously, I would've spotted the odd jailings sooner and uncovered the mimics sooner, and hopefully saved more people."

 

Alice scowls, still worked up.
"Whatever, I'm done. I'm sick of all of this. Ask me about the job later." She grunts.

 

"Do you want some tea?" I ask.
