Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What do you mean? Are you talking about animals?"

 

"Yeah. Two others out there."

 

"How did you know?"

 

"Scent of fear."

 

"Ah. I see. Impressive scent you have."

 

"That, and something smells like a tree and the other is singed."

 

"A tree? Alright I guess."
Pause.
"But anyways. Can they stay?"

 

Nothing else goes through the door. In fact, the door just closes. However, another crate does fall a couple meters away.

"Finish your other orders first." Terrae says.

 

She sighs.
"Didn't we already talk about this?"

Ren looks at it, annoyed.


"Yes, your majesty." They say, bowing before leaving.

 

"It was a big 'no' if I remember correctly."

 

"And what has happened that might change my mind?"

 

"It's fine, glad to see you're still safe. Aren't you cold out there?" Vexa asks.

You end up finding a corpse of a forest guardian, their head appearing to be ripped off.

 

I keep watch of it, occasionally looking back at Shadow Stephanie.

 

"I can't feel temperature like this." She shrugs. "As for a bunch of other people... nope. Something really bad went down in the shadow palace apparently."

 

"Probably nothing. But I don't know, I've been away for a while."

 

Shadow Stephanie crawls under you, going to inspect the corpse.

"Oh, that doesn't sound good," Vexa says, "I hope this cold snap doesn't last too long."

Vexa glances out at the snow.

 

"Literally nothing, except my kids are figuring out how to work together to outwit me."

"I hope the shadow palace doesn't collapse." Ruby comments. "...Did you sleep well?"

 

"Somewhat. I had to start the forge when the snow hit, but I managed to sleep through most of it." Vexa says.

 

"Heh, better sleep than my sister." Ruby chuckles, trying to forget the events at Alice's house.

 

"Mm." Vexa hums agreeingly.
