Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

About a minute later, I come back.
"Let's go."

 

Shadow Stephanie opens a portal to the Realm of Shadows, motioning for you to step through.

 

I head through.

 

Shadow Stephanie follows, the portal closing behind her.

You seem to have walked through into the throne room, Shadow Stephanie teleporting onto her throne, though keeping her smaller form.

 

"I'll send the Matriarch over."
I nod, smiling.

 

"Right now? I'll set up the portal then." Shadow Stephanie says, teleporting to the entrance.

 

"Sure, why not? Is another time more convenient?"

 

"No, I just wasn't expecting her so soon." Shadow Stephanie says, going to open the doors to the throne room, only to find they don't open.

"What the hell?" Shadow Stephanie asks, pushing on the doors.

 

"I'm guessing that they usually open."
I walk over.

 

"Yeah, it's like they're locked shut," Shadow Stephanie says, glancing around, "And where are all my guards?"

 

"...I'd say 'on break', but that'd be dumb right now."

 

"The guards have shifts, there should always be guards here." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Alright. Just follow me and try to draw the least amount of attention."

 

I look around for exits other than the doors.

 

There don't seem to be any obvious alternate exits.

 

"Break down the doors?"
I suggest.
"Or do you have some other way out of here?"

 

Shadow Stephanie thinks for a moment, before teleporting over to her throne and heading behind it.

 

I hastily follow her.

 

Shadow Stephanie pushes against her throne until it shifts forward a bit, revealing a handle for a stealthily covered trapdoor. Shadow Stephanie opens the trapdoor, climbing down a ladder it opens to.

 

I follow still, intrigued.
