Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie trails you as usual, looking around out of curiosity and slight boredom.

 

The doors down this hallway aren't labeled, much like the first hallway. The end of this hallway has another door, which I easily open up.

 

Shadow Stephanie appears behind you, waiting for you to go through before following.

 

I walk in, glancing at another corpse by the door as I do.
"Fourteen."
Aside from that, the door opens up into what looks like a giant children's playground mixed with a gym. Various equipment, books, and games are present, but some are a bit thrown around. More corpses are also thrown around, strewn just about everywhere.

 

Spring tugs at Katie's shirt.
"Should we go crash in the living room?"

 

Shadow Stephanie walks over to one of the corpses, inspecting it.

Katie nods, trying to get out of her chair. She ends up falling out of the chair, sleeping on the floor as she doesn't have the energy to get up.

 

The nearest one, aside from the one next to the door, is one at the base of a pull-up bar. The bar's bloodied, and so is the corpse's broken neck.

 

"Still, It's surprising you still connect with the religion the surface seemed to have created, with how much you two are at odds."

Spring picks her up in a bubble and carries her over to a couch.

You pull yourself up and slip through the grate, just in time.

"You hear that?"
"Might be something coming loose. Probably oughtta let tech know before something goes haywire."
"Yeah. Turbine Three?"
"Hell, they can trace us, they'll know for sure."

"I don't mean this as anything but a metaphor, but there's a saying that goes something like 'know your enemy,' and it's not too far off the mark."

 

Shadow Stephanie tries to see how they broke their neck.

Katie remains asleep, shifting a bit once on the couch to get comfortable.

 

It looks like somebody pushed down on their head and body really hard, so the back of their head would hit the back of their torso.
Or, somebody forgot that this human was not a towel, and tried to put them over something, but got real frustrated when their towel wouldn’t bend over the hanger.
The point is that the head’s a bit bent back from the rest of the body.

 

Shadow Stephanie just leaves the corpse be, walking back over to you.

 

I seem to be walking around, just counting corpses silently.

 

Shadow Stephanie looks around the room a bit more, searching for anything hidden or interesting.

 

There's nothing really hidden, but if she finds board games and books interesting, there's tons of those.

 

Shadow Stephanie opens a random book, flicking through it and skimming the pages.

 

It's a thin little book about the different types of paper airplanes and how to make them.

 

Shadow Stephanie tosses the book behind her, already bored, checking the covers of some of the other books.

 

A few particular books stand out, their covers so worn down they only read " a vin Ho b ".
