Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We go by tunnel or are we gonna walk?" He says, looking at the centaur.
"And what's your name?"

 

Feels like burnt flesh, smells like burnt flesh...
It’s burnt flesh all right.
Not recently burnt, though.

 

"T-tuer... W-w-why?" He asks, still pained.

 

"You're Cole's brother, right? I found him while wondering the forest."

 

"H-he's still a-a-alive?"

 

Tirra searches her pockets before pulling out a deck of cards.

"Anyone want a game?" Tirra asks.

"Sure." Victus shrugs.

"May as well." Ignia says.

"I'm in!" Aqui says happily.

"I'd also like to play." Aeris says.

Mortimer nods.

Tirra gives everyone a couple of cards, one face up and the other face down.

Shadow Stephanie shrugs, eating it anyway and catching up to you.

 

“We should be close now.”
I pick up the pace.

 

Alice comes out with a few dozen cups of tea, some with a red handle.
"Any cup with a red handle has toxic tea. I'll be out with the next batch in a minute."

 

"So what are we looking for here? A golden robot idol?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

Artemis, Victus and Mortimer all take the red-handled cups, while everyone else takes the others, the elites putting a few silver coins by their cards as they play.

Artemis smells some of the cups to see if they contain cocoa, giving one to Claire if there is one.

 

There isn't.

"One normal and one toxic cup on the way, Artemis." Alice says, heading back into the kitchen.

 

“It’s a bit hard to paint a place without lights. I’m going to get them on.”

 

Claire looks a little disappointed, but Artemis gives her a reassuring smile.

There's a mass of sighs as Ignia smiles, collecting money from the other elites with her winning hand, Tirra dealing out cards again.

"Would they even still work? This place looks a bit...old, to say the least." Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

Alice soon returns with two more cups of tea, both with a brown tint. One, as expected, has a red handle.

 

“Not in this state. Which is why I’m headed for the generator, and the backup generator.”

 

Artemis takes the one without the red handle and give it to Claire, who sips it bit by bit while it's still hot.

"This place is empty of your 'family' right?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

It doesn't taste anything like hot chocolate, more like a diluted blend of fruit and chocolate.

 

"...Should be. Candace and Sasha haven't moved."

 

As Ren continues into the random hallway, he takes several turns. For some odd reason, it feels like he's going in circles.

"Worry not, for I shall provide the canvas and the paints. It is up to your artistic discretion what size of a canvas you shall require."

 

Ren tries backtracking, confused.


"Well..."
"If she's going to see it, we probably need, like-"
"We need a freaking wall. Take a house, cover its wall in canvas, and maybe she'll be able to look at it."
"H-hey, don't talk like that in front of our king!"

 

It seems that this only makes it worse, until Ren somehow finds a small wooden door.

"A mural! What an interesting idea!" comments Terrae, "What size of a house do you intend to use?"
