Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I didn't know that, I haven't actually gone back as of late. As for the split body, that's something that I've been working on between pots of tea."

 

We fly for a long time; it’s sundown before we get to our destination.

 

"It takes a lot of mental training to perfect. Luckily I had a good teacher, but even then it was still hard to grasp." I say, before splitting myself into two copies.

"It's honestly quite jarring controlling another person with the same limbs and eyes and stuff." I say.

"I only really use it if I need to, since it's hard to keep up." I say.

"Though who knows, I might have developed my own consciousness and now want to kill you so I can be the real Aj." I say.

"Or maybe I'm the fake Aj, and you're just saying that to confuse." I say.

"Well, clearly you are, because I'm the real Aj." I say

"Uh, no you're not. You're the fake Aj. I'm the real Aj." I say.

"You're just a copy of me, I'm the original!" I say.

"I knew I never should of split myself again. Prepare to die, fake!" I say, drawing Shadow Katana.

"Took the words right out of my own mouth." I say, also drawing Shadow Katana. Shadow Katana flickers slightly as it rapidly switches hands.

Myself and myself clash Shadow Katanas, before fusing into one. I rub my head a bit.

"That...that was harder than I remember." I say, sounding exhausted.

Shadow Stephanie seems to gain her energy back as the sun sets, looking like she needs it.

I keep pushing on, slightly changing direction.

 

The further the sun sets, the easier Shadow Stephanie can keep up with you. Come nighttime, Shadow Stephanie's able to fly next to you.

 

It’s at least another hour before I stop above a forest, looking downwards.

 

"We here?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

“Probably.”
I start descending.
“I don’t know what it looks like from the top.”

 

Shadow Stephanie lets herself fall, diving to the ground. She doesn't catch herself this time, however, splatting onto the ground in a pool of darkness before reforming as herself.

 

Alice smiles.
"Guess it's only easy because I'm not a native shadow."

"Probably a good idea. The winds are hideous out on the ridges, and we're also pretty close to someone else's home."

 

"Then let's just get this over with and head back."

 

"In the eyes of both groups, one will be seen as heretical by the other. I hope that we are able to heal this split soon."

 

"I get you're impatient, but I can't just snap my claws and poof he's thawed out."

"As do I. It's nice to know that there are still those who will try words before war."

 

“I’d call that painful, but knowing you, it wasn’t.”
I say, looking around.

 

"I get that, I'm just worried."

 

"Before a war can be fought with the steal of swords, it must first be realized with the silver of tongues."

 

"About what, and why are you only starting to be worried?"

"You a poet?" One guard asks, holding a door open.

 

"About the animals and the dragons and such. There's a chance that they find us if we stay too long."

 

"That would help." I say, sipping my tea.

"Perks of having a body of darkness." Shadow Stephanie says, looking around too.
