"I don't think anything's ever that easy."

 

The presence just draws closer, Ruby sensing it behind her.

 

"Do you have a need to eat animals?"

 

Ruby whips around, letting a bit of energy loose at the presence.

"Well, yes, but I don't really need to. I can live off berries... if there were any here."

 

"Ah, well that's a good thing. Then we won't run the risk of you eating everyone."

 

"Well, I haven't eaten anyone who wasn't already dead, except for that child. I don't understand the appeal for fresh prey, though... it seems like an awful lot of work for the same amount of food."

 

"Good, good. If we can just convince people that you won't eat us, then you might be able to live somewhere else."

 

"Oh, right, you're not from here..."
They stop digging and turn, getting up in your face.
"Please get me out of here. It's so cold, it's so bloody, so ugly... There's a whole rest of a world out there and I'm stuck here! It's not fair, can't you see? It's not fair at all!" They urge, suddenly a bit maddened.

 

(Why do you keep saying 'They'? Isn't it one dragon?)
"Wooho. Calm down. I want to get down first, then I'll see what I can do."

 

It is one dragon.
They hesitate, then turn around again.
"Right... sorry. This place drives you mad..." They sigh, starting to dig again.

Well, I'm not arguing with him that it makes him mad...

 

"Y-Yeah. I get that. Sure."
He looks around a bit, not really knowing what to say.

 

Is it just me, or are we pretty much stuck with this madman... or, mad-dragon, at this point?

They keep quiet, digging a bit faster than they had been.

 

"I don't know. It's taking a while to get down though." He thinks.
He decides to look at the tunnel that has been digged.

 

You've made it to the bottom of the valley, a bit of blood seeping through the snow behind you.

 

"Think that is our blood, or that of the dragon?"
He tries to 'collect' some of the blood.

 

There's something going on above.

The dragon stops as you both hear footsteps overhead.

 

"What's that? The centaur maybe?" He says.
He looks if he can see anything.

 

I dispel the energy with Shadow Katana.

"Are you feeling alright?" I ask, flying closer to Ruby.

 

She lets a pulse of energy course through her body to purge anything within.
"I think so..."

The footprints look like hooves; round and narrow.
"Can't tell, but if it's not, we're dead."
