Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Bardock is disgusted by the story.
"Dear god.. that's terrible."

 

"He was well fed, enough to last me until I was done grieving." They shrug.

 

"Guh.. that's disgusting, but terrible at the same time."

 

"No, we're both royalty." Shadow Stephanie says.


The fire guardian runs away, scared, extinquishing their fireball to try and stay hidden.


"I...guess that isn't so bad." Jennifer says.

 

He sits in the closest empty seat, looking towards the arena.

 

I plunge into the lake.

 

"The only thing pretty up here are the sunsets."

The arena itself is currently empty, but all spotlights are on a (currently empty) commentator's box.

"I'll see if I can get him to lighten your load."


"W-wait, I won't tell anyone..."


"You still have a heavily protected box. Plus, nobody's here against their will or held back, so nobody's going to go after you or the audience."

Your spirit doesn't feel the cold water, and the lake seems to go deeper and deeper as you head away from the island. In fact, it goes so deep, there seems to be something built further down.

 

His attention turns to the box.

 

"Please do." Shadow Stephanie says.


The fire guardian's already run away, unable to hear Ruby.


"We'll try our best for our first day." Maria says, trying to be positive.

 

Ihra chuckles.
"Well, thanks for the help when Aj bailed. I didn't know you were that good of a shot."


Ruby sighs, descending to where the boy sat and levitating where he was, looking at the view once again.


"Well, you'll probably be hitting the history books after this first match. Do you know who Ihra is?"

A door opens in the back of the box, but nobody steps into it just yet.

 

Crystal excitedly watches for someone to enter.

 

Shadow Stephanie points a finger gun at Ihra and winks, 'firing' her finger gun.


The view is still rather scenic, the moon casting it's light over the world, showing owls and other flying creatures of the night hunting above the trees.

As Ruby looks at the view, she suddenly feels a ominous sensation as she notices a pair of red eyes staring directly at her from the forest far below. Despite how far away they are, it feels like they're right in front of her.


"Um...That sort of rings a bell, but not really." Jennifer says.

 

Ihra smiles.
"I'm gonna go check out the new arena at the Void Palace. Just reach out to me if you need me." She says, turning to the exit.


She glances at the red eyes for a bit, then shifts her gaze to them more permanently.
"H-hello...?"


"Oh boy, you've got a lot of work to do." They laugh, opening the doors to a brightly lit commentator's box.

He can now see the two succubi starting to enter.

 

He keeps watching, attention now switching between the arena and the box.

 

"Will do. Have fun!" Shadow Stephanie says happily.


There's no response, but the eyes disappear after Ruby looks at them for a while.

The succubi walk through, looking for somewhere to sit.

 

Ruby tries to reach out to you, nervous.
"A-aj?"


There's two swiveling chairs with mics and a whole control deck full of buttons, dials, switches, levers, etc...
"We'll help you out at first with the controls. You can pretty much control everything in the arena from here."

Two succubi and a guard enter the box, the crowd cheering.

In the arena, two platforms rise up, showing holographic menus.

 

His full attention turns to the arena, joining the cheer.

 

"That's depressing. My home has way more things than just the sunset."

 

"Yeah?" I respond.


The succubi take their seats.

"What does everything do?" Jennifer asks.

 

"I might try to visit sometime, except that I'd probably be killed."

The menus shift a bit, one locking on "FEIHA" and the other on "XEPHYR." The holograms start filling wireframes of two draconians.

"Does anything else have red eyes other than shadows?"


The guard flips two levers, and the mics open.
"We'll handle the first fight. All you need to know is that this first fight is going to be Xephyr against Feiha. Xephyr uses ice so cold that it can freeze time itself, and Feiha uses a special set of three orbs to trap and kill her foes."
