"I'll have breakfast now, thank you very much."

 

Ren heads down the west hall, curious.


They're present, yes.

"There's an empty cave?"

"That just means you're closer to finding her."


"The bigger the item and more ingots, the more energy. The less energy I have, the slower I get energy."

A guard stops you.
"We're waiting for Aj to come talk with these folk. Mind holding off until then?"

You're not sure, but you'll find out soon.

"Do you need guidance to the mess hall?" They ask.

 

"Hmm.. not really."
He give an awkward grin.

 

"Was its resident asleep?"

 

"No, he let us in."

 

"What?" They ask, stopping digging.

 

"What if we don't, Ihra?" Shadow Stephanie asks, looking distraught.


"Ah, I see. Well, I'm sure if I give you a big enough job to do, it ought to even out the supply of ingots to the ones I have stored." Vexa says happily.

 

"The owner of the cave. He let us inside. Is that strange?"

 

"But you will."


"I just have to be careful not to overdo it, pass out, then die from, well... falling on the ground."

Shadow Stephanie sighs, looking back at her paperwork.

"I guess that's why everyone likes you so much." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling a bit.


"Hmm, that is a problem." Vexa says, thinking.

 

"Well, the owner knew one of us, so it was easy."

 

“Not at all.”
I nod.
“Where is he, anyways? Xlentia’s armor got chipped and she’s looking for a new paint job.”

 

"Well, she has to be somewhere."


"It wasn't fun being like this last time, especially since the power can get to my head after a century or two."

"His palace, I think. Probably busy, that and with burying his dead."

"You're a freaking wizard." They sigh, starting to dig again.

 

Shadow Stephanie puts her paperwork down, swiveling around and getting off her throne before walking over to Ihra and hugging her.


"Power corrupts, as they say." Vexa nods.

 

"I'll take that as a compliment."

 

“Main portal to that is in the library... what’s going on with the library?”

 

It's a bit of a long walk somehow, but eventually Ren can start hearing sounds. At the end of the hall is an exit leading to the airport docks.

"Gentlemen, I would like to commission one massive painting from all of you. Would you be interested in such a commission?"

 

"Yes I do, I would appreciate it if you did."

I begin to follow the guards to the mess hall

 

"It's meant as one. You're the first being that isn't a dragon to go into that cave and come out alive. Ever."

Ren peeks out at the docks.


They glance at each other, mumbling for a bit.
"Might we ask for more details?"
"I'm not sure I want to accept a blind commission."
"We don't mean to be rude, but... we'd rather decline than disappoint."
"Hard to know what we're going for if we... well, don't know."
"Who's it for?"

It seems to be a long walk.
"If you don't mind us asking, what brought you down here?"
"What's it like on the surface? Are there still breezes?"

"Everyone's advised to stay clear of the null zones. Lady Emerald had to go to extremes to deal with intruders."

Ihra hugs her back.
"I know you're worried about her, but there's only so many places we can look. If Xlentia didn't erase her, then she's still somewhere. If she's somewhere and we're running out of places to look, then we'll find her soon."


"Fortunately, I was told that I'm only gonna be stuck like this for a year, so... that beats a millennia."

 

"Guess I'm special." He smiles.
