Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Mish nods, looking a little worried.

 

I stop and look at her, smiling, before continuing on my way towards the portal.

 

"Exactly. So let's just continue doing this and endure the pain for a little bit."

 

"Do you have any idea where she went off to?" Ali asks, already worried.

If we rip a claw out, I'm gonna scream and we're gonna trigger an avalanche.

You find a sleeping bag, pillow, journal, and pen sitting next to the portal.

 

Is the sleeping bag empty?

 

"Maybe the gardens? Lots of fruits and vegetables are grown around there." Mish says, thinking.

 

It's rolled up, so yes.

"She'd probably be back by now if that was the case. I'll go ask the guard, see if they saw her." Ali says, heading for the door.

 

"I'll wait here in case she comes back." Mish says, sounding worried.

 

Ali nods.
"By the way, did the smith like the spice?" She asks, opening the door and stepping partway out.

 

"Yes, he said to compliment you." Mish says, smiling.

 

I take the journal, looking through it.

 

"Oh, good. Glad he liked it." Ali says, waving and closing the door as she heads for the nearest guard.
"Excuse me?"

It's blank.
"...Heh, haven't even started and I have someone taking a peek." The man who held his ground to Voidfiller says off to the side.

 

The guard glances at Ali.

"Yes?" The guard asks.

 

“That’ll happen when you leave it out in a forest.”
I don’t even turn to him, putting the journal back down.

 

"Have you seen the water faerie that was assigned to be my assistant?"

"Well, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't leaving anything behind. Went back for a picture of better... well, more blissfully ignorant times."

 

"Yes, last I saw she was headed out to the palace gardens, though she's yet to return." The guard says.

 

Ali sighs, nodding.
"Thanks." She says before taking off towards an elevator.

 

There was an elevator back in the kitchens, though there's also one a short distance away in the hallway.

 

I nod.
“That can be nice. Don’t end up reminiscing too much, though.”

 

She heads to the hall elevator and uses the guide book to help her with the combo to the gardens.

"Been there, done that."
Pause.
"...Is your friend always like that?"
