Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The cold wind is a bit harsh on your nose, but your fur keeps the rest of you relatively warm.

This seems to be a second entrance, and you seem to be just in time for two dragons to start ripping into each other on a mountaintop, a third waiting behind a few trees to clean up.

 

"T-That seems awfully dangerous." Daniel says.

Ihra notices me running toward the doors of the mansion, a girl with pale skin and jet black hair unconscious in my arms.

"We need to leave right now." I say as I run past.

Ihra feels her magic being enhanced even more.

 

...And you will do what, exactly?

 

"Not going there." He thinks.
He turns away from the dragons and continues walking.

 

"Daniel, do you know any other servants here and where they'd be?" She says urgently, tomes starting to circle her.

Walking on a mountain ridge is fairly visible, and you notice several sets of eyes watching you.

 

"I-I don't know, t-the servant's quarters?" Daniel says, panicked.

Ihra can hear a loud whistle from outside.

 

Are they dragons?
He looks at the eyes.

 

Ihra checks outside, tossing Daniel a crystal.
"Run there as fast as you can. Now."

Some are birds in trees, others include a hare and a fox. One is a dragon, but they're a fair bit away and keeping their distance.

 

I seem to be waiting, the ground shaking a little.


Daniel runs to the servant's quarters.

 

Ihra tosses a crystal in the room she put the gardeners in, binding them with vines as she runs out.
"How much more time?!" She shouts at you.

"Anyone in there?" Daniel hears Ihra telepathically.

 

"Okay, nothing to bad. Just need to keep an eye out on that dragon."
He continues walking, watching his steps.

 

"About two minutes, we need to get out of here now!" I say.

A giant wolf with black fur jumps over the wall around the mansion, stopping in front of me and lowering it's head.


"Y-Yes." Daniel responds.

 

“Stop panicking. You’re late to the party, real late. Everyone already knows, and we’ve already done what we can.”

 

The dragon doesn't move, just watching silently.

The ridge is narrow, but you get to the next peak without slipping.

"What do you mean?!"
"Shit, we're so fired..."

"Two minutes until what?!"


"Okay, the crystal snaps in half. Break it in two, leave one half there, and try and find someone else who's just unconscious."

 

"This place explodes! You think I'm going to leave all this research for someone else to find and restart?" I say.


"O-Ok." Daniel says, doing as instructed.

 

“You shouldn’t fret so much. What can be done has been done.”

 

"No, but I didn't expect you to take out the whole everything nearby with it!"


"Let me know when you've got someone. Worst case scenario, you're out in a minute and a half."

"How can we not worry?!"
"We just sort of let the one thing we're supposed to not let happen, happen."

 

"I'm sure half of the village will be fine. Probably." I say, carefully putting the unconscious girl on the wolf's back, before getting on myself.


"I-I've found someone." Daniel says.

 

"Alright, still doing good."
He carefully goes forward.

 

"My god, how many barriers do I have to create today?" Ihra grumbles. "Whatever, I'm bringing some of the workers back to the Void Palace with me. It'd be nice if you'd let them live."


"Okay, get ready to not believe your eyes."

Still nothing, some of the snow-covered mountains more pink and red than white.
It's a bit of a grim sight.
