I head back the respite.

 

"That would be most appreciated. thank you."

I step inside the chamber

 

Nothing easily visible, but scoping in towards the siege artillery may help.


She turns to one of the guards.
"Is there still more space in the gallery?"

"I can't blame them, blood is a wonderful thing."

She leaves, and you encounter nobody on your way back except for one of the raptors that was screaming earlier.

"I'll see what I can do. Rest easy."

 

Shadow Stephanie heads a bit closer, before looking through the scope towards the artillery.


The guard nods.

 

"It can be dangerous for us humans, drinking to much of someone elses blood."

 

She can see the portal, but mechs and various siege engines are moving in front of it, but they don't even seem to notice.


"And, uh... would it be possible that I could get some compensation for my work? I don't even have a desk or anything."

"Really? Why?"

 

I ignore them, picking up the pace.

 

Shadow Stephanie looks for any gaps or windows to shoot through.


"Of course, how much were you thinking of?" The guard asks.

 

"You know, blood types and stuff. I believe it can cause diseases and such."

 

They also pick up their pace, trying to catch up with you.

None, but the scope seems to have locked on the portal.


"I dunno... how much does it cost to get a desk, or something to keep my stuff from falling on the floor when I fall asleep?"

"Oh... that's too bad. Good thing you have a beast form, then!"

 

Shadow Stephanie tries shifting around the portal, while staying out of sight, to see how the lock changes.


"Well, considering your contributions to the palace, we could see about having a few items like a desk arranged should you require it." The guard says, thinking.

 

It keeps the portal highlighted, even though it's visually covered by siege engines.


"If you could, that'd be great. I lose a lot of paint when I wake up and find my palette on the ground." She sighs. "...or if I get startled and woken up and ruin my painting..."
She seems to be near losing her mind out of frustration.

 

I stop, then turn towards them.

 

Shadow Stephanie thinks for a moment, before checking if the mech suit has any other weaponry.


"Would you like a better bed? And some more paints?" The guard asks.

 

They skid to a stop, tumbling a bit.
"H-hey... s-sorry, u-uh..." They pant, winded. "I was w-wondering what's going on. D-did the king really get killed?"

 

"Yeah. And I'm trying to figure out who did it."

 

No; the extra ammo cartriges are each the size of a missile launcher.


"I don't have a bed, and more paints or dyes would help. I just sort of fall asleep in my chair in front of the canvas."

"Oh... yikes. Is there anything I can do? I don't wanna get kicked out of the respite."

 

"That does come in handy, yes."
He continues walking through the forest, looking at the amount of animals there are.

 

All sorts of bugs, birds, squirrels, other rodents, the occasional centaur... pretty much everything that was in the forest evacuated up here.

 

Shadow Stephanie summons three mage crystals, one void of magic while the other two charged with electric and explosive magic. Shadow Stephanie charges the mage crystal void of magic with half of each of the charged ones, creating an electric and explosive mage crystal. Shadow Stephanie then partially gets out of her mech suit, charging the crystal with a shot of magic to trigger it's explosive magics before throwing it as hard as it can, the crystal flying in space for a bit before exploding in a bright, electric explosion.


"So you'd like a new desk, a bed to sleep in, new sets of paints and dyes, and payment for your artwork?" The guard asks.
