"Whatever. She deserves it."

 

And now we can start cooking the fish.

 

It's not an open fire, but you could still move one of the burning logs to a fire pit... if you set one up.

 

"I wasn't going to." Shadow Stephanie says.


Aqui takes the spectral plane, swimming through quickly.

 

"Not even going to take the chances?"


It's quiet, but the blast doors are dented up.

 

"Chances of what?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


Aqui knocks on the doors.

 

It's a stove, put the fish on top of the metal.

 

Sigh.
"Are you going to take the mech and try not to miss, or no?"


They're hit with heavy gunfire in response.

Victus is behind her.

You'll be waiting a while, and you don't really have a good way to get the fish off the stove without sweeping it off the edge every time you want to check it.

 

"Can't argue with that. Just can't kill, but I would love to hurt her some."

 

"Because I'm going to deliberately try to miss when I'm attempting to save your place's ass from the hive master." Shadow Stephanie says sarcastically.


"Aqui?" Victus asks, making Aqui jump.

"O-Oh, hey Victus." Aqui says, a little shaken.

"Where's your group of Shadows? Did you find any of the others?" Victus asks.

"They got killed off or are still fighting out in space. You're the first of us I've found." Aqui says.

"Damn. I've been informed of these creatures that are living metal, and require complete extermination; no trace left behind. They're too strong for me, I was thinking Tirra, Ignia or Mortimer would be more effective against them." Victus says.

"Well, we can still work together. Our elements benefit from each other." Aqui says happily.

"Good thinking. We should assist the others that are getting more heavily attacked." Victus says.

 

"The surface is something that people would die to control. It's bountiful and full of life. It's one of the most wonderful lands I've ever seen. This is a close second, however."

 

"I wonder what her blood tastes like."

"Heh, I hear people do die trying to control it."

"I thought you didn't really care that much."


"If it makes you feel any better, those creatures aren't against us."

 

"Can't taste any different than real blood, can it? Maybe it's a different color?"

 

"I care about winning this damn battle. It's hard enough without Aj providing extra support." Shadow Stephanie says.


"They aren't?" Victus asks, surprised.

 

“...No, apologies.”

 

"Blood has many different tastes, it's not just a one-taste-for-all thing."

Idhaenna taps something, and a mechsuit lifts up from the floor.
"Alright, there's your gun. Go play the big damn hero, and I'll see what's left to celebrate with."


"The mechs? No. Those are all draconian or robots."
One of the destroyed mechs seems to start pulling itself together, albeit at a snail's pace.
"...Okay, except him, but he's on our side."
"The funeral was a nice gesture the first time."

She sighs.
"Well, maybe I can, like, scrape off the paint and redo that one spot..."

 

“That could work. Fairly well, if you scrap correctly.”

 

Shadow Stephanie hops into the mechsuit, before looking at her map to try and deduce where the next portal might be.


"How can we tell if one of the ones coming back to life is friendly or not?" Aqui asks.

 

She focuses on scraping the bit of paint off before going back over it with the brush.

A few minutes later, it looks just like it had before the splash.
"It... will probably be good enough to display." She sighs.

The holomap suggests a concentration of foes in B3C3, Aqui and Victus there. The other four elites are all still B2C4.


"We can't be mind controlled. We overthrew the race that used us as slaves, and we wouldn't wish that on anyone else."
"...That."

 

Shadow Stephanie heads to B3C3 quickly.


"Do you not possess will?" Victus asks.
