Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We can. She'll probably be more angry with us though."
*sigh*
"If she isn't already."

 

"I took out one of their portals with one." Shadow Stephanie shrugs.


Aqui melts and refreezes her icy self to turn the giant ice cube into a glacier, before using a large part of her might to send it flying towards the enemies.

 

"She's angry anyways, let's give her a reason."

"Fine. I'll get one here for you... under the condition that if you scrap it, you help compensate for the ammo. It is NOT cheap to gather two stars and compact them into a stasis cartridge."


She winds up shoving out the defenders and all out into the open, several of the shadows and pilots getting killed as a result.

 

He laughs.
"I think she already has a good reason."

 

"We haven't done anything yet."

 

"What do you mean by compensate?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


Aqui tries to build a wall of ice to keep the enemies from getting back in.

 

"Financial or labor, either works. My factories got picked off weeks ago."


There seems to be less and less enemies coming at the group.

 

"How much?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


Aqui keeps building up the wall, adding spikes which she occasionally sends flying.

 

"Apparently I did. You didn't hear about the whole conversation we were having?"

 

"Enough for a magazine of four shots. So... you'd be helping compress or buying eight stars."


The wall doesn't do much, this area of the battlefield now somewhat barren.

"I forgot. She bored me."

 

"I guess I'll just leave the portals open." Shadow Stephanie shrugs, taking her leave and looking for explosives on the way out.


Aqui checks her map.

 

She's stopped.
"You're not even going to try not to miss?"


C4B2 is marked as damaged but not destroyed, and it seems that a blast door is being worn away at Branch 3 Chamber 3.

 

“King’s dead. Stab wound from a Mantis armblade. Meaning either your guard stabbed him, or your guard got killed, and their arm got taken.”

 

Shadow Stephanie thinks for a moment.

"...No...?" Shadow Stephanie says.


Aqui heads to branch 3, chamber 3.

 

She sighs.
"Damn it all, this day did manage to get worse..."

"No repercussions unless you miss."


It's either the spectral plane, or the vents...

 

"Oh.. well. Apparently I hunted down some of her children. So that's why."

 

"Wasn't it because she set you up, though?"

 

“Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.”

 

"Can you think of a way that I can salvage this?"

 

"No, that was part of her revenge. I think."
