Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“When did they go missing?”

 

Shadow Stephanie waits to see what happens with the portal.


Aqui, panicked, immediately adapts, trying to change her lower half into a fish tail to assist swimming as she swims as fast as she can to the other side.

 

"A few days ago, wait... yesterday was when he should've gotten back."

 

“That’s... alarming.”

 

After the blinding flash, it's collapsed.


She quickly comes out on the other side, in the middle of a battlezone as a mermaid.

"Why?" She asks, snapping a palette.

 

I blow on the fire a bit.

 

“The king’s dead. He was stabbed with what looks like a Mantis armblades.”

 

Shadow Stephanie looks for any other sniper mechs, as well as any other portals.


Aqui falls to the ground hard, before changing her fish tail back into normal legs, getting up and gathering more water around her.

Any of the enemies in the battlezone with water inside of them find it being drained from them.

 

It takes a minute until it catches.

"...What?" She asks, surprised.

She can't find any, but Idhaenna would be the one to ask.


There are none, but the other mechs guard Aqui during her transformation.

 

"You do remember that doing so will return the curse, right?"

 

Shadow Stephanie starts making her way back to Idhaenna.


Aqui creates another larger icy version of herself, blasting all the enemy mechs with water while preventing any from touching the friendly mechs.

 

"We're not killing her."

She's tallying something on a holographic UI.
"You're back? What's going on?"


Her larger icy form attracks gunfire, the other mechs unwilling and unable to intercept railgun fire.

 

"I need a sniper mech." Shadow Stephanie says.


Ice shards fly off, though Aqui is kept protected in the heart of her form. Aqui stomps, sending large spikes of ice outwards in an arc that widens as it progresses.

 

"What for? Novas are only for major targets."


A railgun barely misses Aqui, micromissiles doing a number on her icemech.
"Careful with the water, they're bringing in stronger mechs."

 

"I can take out the portals with them." Shadow Stephanie says.


Aqui changes her arms into long, watery tentacles, slamming them down on her enemies, the ends of the tentacles freezing before impact for additional damage.

 

"If we take a bite out of her, and it turns out to be lethal, then we did kill her."
He walks some more.

 

"What portals?"


Shock courses through the waters as a few arclightning blades come in contact with the water.

"Then we won't take a big bite."

 

"The portals everything attacking this place is getting in through." Shadow Stephanie says.


Aqui cuts off the tentacles before the electricity gets to her, instead steadily creating a giant cube of ice in front of her.

 

"Just to hurt her then?"

 

"They've got backup lines? Do you even know how to use the mechs?"


The cube is chipped off with gunfire to keep it from getting too big.

"Yeah, to rub it in."
