"Do you think we can go outside if we stay close to the cave?"

 

"I can't, but you're welcome to. My spouse goes out all the time."

 

"Ehhhh I don't really care." Shadow Stephanie says flatly.

 

"Are you just trying to make Nod look good at this point?"

 

"Consider it half and half." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

Idhaenna smirks.
"Shame you've got places to be. Anyhow... I may cut the shields early for the sake of not overloading them and causing nuclear detonations inside my own palace. Just saying. Apparently that's really bad for mortal health."

 

"Is there a way of containing them so we can damage the hive master's forces?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"The reactors are inside, so not really. Also, if you'd look at the map..."
The map shows an overlay that easily connects chambers three deep, leaving two walls to breach to reach the center chamber.
"...It'd also make things about twice as easy on the Hive Master."

 

“What if you have another taser?”
Voidfiller jokes with childish apprension, but then starts to slowly descend.

 

"Oh, damn." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

Any firewood lying around?

 

"I'll take a look first. See if there isn't anything out there."

 

"A bit more appealing to cut the shields early, no?"

"Aren't you both amorphous and can coat yourself with rubber at will? Hell, can you even be tased?"

Outside, there's seven quarter logs.

"Alright, let me know. My spouse likes me to stay inside... mostly to keep our kids safe."

 

"I think we're ready." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Figured."
He and Anne head towards the entrance of the cave.

 

“Yes and yes.”
Voidfiller lands a few feet away.

 

"Alright... I'll have minimaps displayed for your forces. Branch 1 through 3, chambers 1 through 5, and my room is the core. Defend the core, yadda yadda, avoid anything that's marked destroyed unless you like dying."

"I assume you figured out that I was the one who fired the blowgun darts?"

Anne keeps you warm as the mountain wind blows across your face.
"How are you not freezing?"

 

"You're keeping me warm. Why, are you?"

 

Shadow Stephanie summons a note pad and starts making plans.

 

“Yep. Care to spill more?”
