Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The faeries just sit by and watch.


"I'll just go gather the army." I say.

 

"I shall keep that in mind."

I move away from the crystal I was about to brush against

 

"Ah. If you could fly that crate up to the Lost and Found section at the Western Wing of Building B at the Docks then that would be satisfactory."

 

"That sounds about right. Usually it's just one."

"Sorry, too heavy."

Reiglynn glances at you.
"When you have one queen, it's not hard to get ideas."
"I've got a great guard, but those who think they should be better off than others tend to... not."

She eventually mixes the flourball with the spices, using a bit more water for the larger clumps of powder.


Emerald doesn't respond, letting the link drop.

 

The faeries watch Ali's process, curious.


A while later, a dark portal opens up in the Void Palace library, myself, Shadow Stephanie and the elites walking through; a large group of armoured and cloaked Shadows follow through after.

 

She just rolls the sphere around until all the powder sticks to it, adds more water, then starts kneading it and repeating the process.


"Okay, portal room updated or something. The switch is a dial. You may also consider going and making sure Gaia didn't go home just to get herself into more trouble."

"...No, I don't think so."
"I bet the Matriarch has an extra somewhere."

 

"Somebody go run and see."

 

The faeries continue watching until asked for.


"Alright." I say, leading the small army to the portal room.

 

The four glance at each other before the woman just heads off.

Eventually, Ali puts each ball of spices on the plates.
"...Are you two opposed to taste testing spicy things?"


There's a dial next to the room with five symbols; earth, water, fire, air, and darkness. It's currently on darkness.

 

I hold my hand out.
"Now, hand over the rest of the equipment so I can get prepared."

 

"Oh. Pfft, yeah. That's way easier to handle." He laughs.

 

The faeries shake their heads.


I think for a moment, before turning it to Earth.

 

They do so, leaving with you a pile of test tubes, tape, etc.

Ali breaks off a tiny bit of each ball.
"It should disintegrate and then coat your mouth with the spice."


A portal to Gaia's ruined palace comes into view.

"Definitely. Eight is just... just thinking about it hurts!" Anne chuckles.

 

Rin and Mish take the spice pieces, eating them.


I step through with the group, looking for Gaia.

 

The more spices that are in the pieces, the spicier the bits are. Once it comes in contact with their tongue, the piece dissolves and coats their mouth with the taste, offering no respite for a good minute if it's too much... attempting to scrape it off with teeth or rub it off their tongues result in a more intense spice.
...It only lasts a few seconds thanks to the small size of the pieces.


Her chamber doors are open and intact, though she's burying her face in her paws.

 

"Give me your general location." Terrae says, teleporting to the Lost and Found area.

 

The spicier pieces make Mish and Rin sweat, Rin seeming to have less tolerance toward the spiciness, even creating and sucking on an ice cube when the spice gets to spicy.


"Gaia, good to see you're still alive." I say.

 

"Below your castle
Middle of crater"

The water seems to make it even more intense, but thankfully shortening the experience for a few seconds.
"...You two okay?"


She slowly looks up.
"My counterpart is kind, though I didn't have much time to mourn in my exploration."
