Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"...So, rant cut short, we hid a few forensics tools out here so we could use them if we needed to... and this seemed like a need-to basis."

 

"I mean, I figured you all weren't running for one blacklight."
Voidfiller activates the brick and starts speaking into it.
"Hey."
As usual, my voice comes from the other side.
"Any updates?"
"I've got two guys. Do you know about this thing they're doing?"
"With the tools? Yeah. Do the guys you have have any of their tools?"
"Uh..."
Voidfiller turns around and looks to the man, expectant.

 

"You cut me off, and I'm assuming you got my partner before he got to the mantis dungeon... so no."

 

"Hear that?"
He speaks back into the microphone.
"Yeah. Meet me somewhere in between the ramp and the respite."
"Will do."
With that, the brick disappears.

 

He glances at Voidfiller.
"You going to drag me over there now, or do I get some respite time to eat?"

 

"You can get some eating time. Thirteen won't mind waiting."
Voidfiller quickens his pace a bit.

 

The man doesn't, though he does keep a steady pace.

 

Voidfiller looks around a bit, but keeps marching forward.

 

About a minute's walk from the respite.
A few seconds later, he can hear what sounds like a door slamming into a wall and a window breaking.

 

"...Should I be worried about that?"

 

Ali needs to enter the heat to speak to the smith, but they seem responsive.

"Yo." A Shadow smith says, glancing at Ali.


The sculptors etch this into the tombstone out of respect.

 

"The fourth location was in the respite, so I'd say yeah, you should be."

 

"Let's get moving."
Voidfiller starts making his way towards the noise, quickly.

 

"Um... what're you guys working on? I'm just curious what these plates are for and such."


Everything for Sapphire's grave takes up about an entire room worth of space, but there doesn't seem to be really anything more to add.

The man just keeps his same pace.
A bit of yelling helps Voidfiller find the source of the commotion, as well as a few bumps and crashes.

 

Voidfiller gently lets down the man he's carrying.
"Stay here."
He warns the other man, then keeps going towards the commotion.

 

He stops.

Another window breaking, but it's on the other side of the remains of the wall.

 

Voidfiller flies over, looking around.

 

He can hear a fistfight in the farmhouse below.

 

He finds an entrance and goes through without breaking anything.

 

There's a wide open door, one bloodied woman with a briefcase blocking (most) of her attacker's strikes.
She seems to be trying to reach a scalpel.
