“Yeah. And getting what they want, then leaving without thinking about repercussions. That didn’t happen here, luckily.”

 

"Which part of that?"

 

"Oh. Could I see that some day? Sounds interesting."
He looks excited.

 

"What, writing? Do you not know how to write?"

 

"I want to see how this goes. Writing with scales, sounds weird."

 

"Oh, you just need to scan the book and confirm it's ID, then put it into the box and press send." The earth guardian says, taking Ali's book and showing her how to scan it and send it back.


"Yes." Solus says.

 

Ali does as told, trying to remember it.


"Alright, I'll need a few minutes, then."

"No, it's like tracing words, or writing in the dirt with a stick."

 

The book disappears from the machine, seemingly put back.


"We'll open a portal when you need it." Lielia says.

 

Ali smiles.
"Thanks."

She looks at the note she was given.


"Thanks..."
Five minutes later, Emerald reaches out to them again.
"Okay, I've got them ready."

 

I casually turn invisible and walk right ext to them.

 

They're quiet, watching the line patiently. You notice one glance towards you, though.

 

Gonna keep quiet. Gonna call his bluff.

 

"Oh. Like that. That's not so special then."

 

It has the id of the second book written on it still.


A bright portal opens in front of Emerald.

 

She goes back to the first machine and inputs the ID in the search bar.


A few boxes of things along with a sapphire-lined box containing Sapphire's remains go through, giant puppets visible behind them.
"I might need a little help with the war puppets."

"It really isn't. I didn't want you getting your hopes up."

A few seconds later, he winks at you, but keeps quiet to his buddy.
Seems more and more people are starting to get better with magic.

 

I'll leave them the boat. Feeling nice today.
I'll teleport to the island.

 

A book appears: "The fundamentals of the enconomy", the autor cited as someone called "A. Hawthorn"


A few guards run through the portal to assist, as a couple of others take the boxes and Sapphire's remains.

 

There's an old overgrown cabin, but other than that, there's no signs of anyone being on the island recently.

Ali starts reading, focusing her attention for seeking denominations.


It takes about three guards per puppet; a serpent, a gryphon, a behemoth, and a golem of sorts present, fully threaded and each with a compartment with twenty ends inside.

 

The denominations are listed on the first few pages, bronze to mage.


The guards take the puppets through the palace carefully.

 

She looks at how many of each coin are needed to equal the next denomination.


They seem fairly sturdy, but the joints seem to lock out a couple times in transit.
