Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Is the king available?"
Pause.
"...or the queen, I guess?"

 

"The queen is, yes." One of the guards says.

 

Ali swallows hard, then nods.
"...May I speak with her?"

 

"For what reason?" The guard asks.

 

Ali freaks out a bit, shivering.
"M-maybe it's better I wait for the king..." She says, now clearly nervous.

 

"And why would that be?" The guard asks.

 

Ali freezes up, scared.

 

The guard raises an eyebrow.

 

After a minute, Ali manages to find her voice.
"I-I was going to ask if I w-was still wanted as a-a chef here... b-but every time I s-see the queen, I f-feel like I'm g-going to d-die..." She admits, trembling.

 

"If you're asking for a job, then you may enter." The guard says, opening the right door to the throne room to let Ali enter.

 

She nods, though it takes her a minute to get through the door, looking straight down and breathing heavily as she takes step after shaky step.

 

The door closes behind Ali once she's inside, and she can feel a large presence in the throne room with her.

 

She jumps a bit as the door closes, looking up nervously.

 

A pair of massive red eyes gaze down at Ali from the end of the throne room, a large crown above them. As Ali's sight adjusts, she can see Shadow Stephanie in her larger form sitting on her throne.

 

She looks down quickly, losing her balance and stumbling a bit.

 

Shadow Stephanie just waits for Ali to say something.

 

The first words she utters are "P-please don't kill me..."

 

"Why would I do that?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

Ali shivers like Shadow Stephanie's words are chills through her spine.
"I-I... just wanted to a-ask if you'd... uhm... l-let me work a-as a chef..." She utters, though she looks like she's going to fall over any moment.

 

"If you want to. You'd be a valuable addition to the team." Shadow Stephanie says.
