Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It's just some trash, broken bits of ships, and interestingly, an entire crate.

 

Emerald turns all of her energy into strengthening the killzone, the raw magic quickly wearing away at it as it spreads through the entire library.


Iris tries to trace where it went.


Ihra winds up closing her eyes, yawning.

Curious, Ren checks to see if the crate's open. If not, he tries to pry it open with his claws.

He hums happily, rolling around a bit.

It still could go for restoration and some of the rooms are still quarantined, but you can hear a bit of commotion from upstairs.

 

The dark creatures are eradicated, leaving not much of a trace.


Wherever it is, it isn't in her reality anymore.


Artemis creates a bed of flowers below Ihra and herself, collapsing into her own.

 

"Thank you, you are too kind."

I slowly enter the cave

 

"How is your master Artemis? Is she treating you well?"

 

I head upstairs.

 

Emerald scans for any stragglers.


Iris sighs before turning to you.
"Well, I suppose I'll see you on the other side of my axe in a day or so."


Gaia grows a thick moss beneath them, acting as a mattress.

Once you get up there, just about everyone who lives in the respite is up there, two guards slumped over with darts in their necks and the throne room doors wide open, the king dead on his throne.

He nods, though his head is sideways so it sort of looks like he's shaking his head no.

You can see the scar tissue covering her eyes, yet she seems to watch you as you walk, turning as you go by.

"I'm sure I have an old chair somewhere, if you're not one to sit on the ground."

 

I walk inside more, checking around to see if anyone's noticed me.

 

"Anything happened since our last chat? Cause a lot of things happened here."
He smiles.

 

The crate is closed. After some prying, the crate bursts open revealing its contents: ores. Lots of ores.

 

There seems to be quite a few left over.


"I don't get it. Why are you against us?" I ask.

 

No, they seem to be busy throwing blame at one person or another.

She brings the killzone to them.


"Does it really matter to you... or are you giving Ihra false hope?"
The aura around her axe begins to dim.
"What I'm interested in is why you only seem to care now, after so long into this... adventure, as you like to call it."

Ren cloaks it and takes off, heading straight for your throne room again.

He shakes his head.

 

They're killed quite quickly, leaving the library empty of them.


"Because you killed one of my best friends and ended up causing the problem we just faced," I say, "And have a part essential to said friends revival."

 

She scans for their presence throughout the void.


"Heh... you want to revive the source of that? You either know something I don't or you're dumber than I thought."

 

There don't seem to be any left.


"I know something you don't. Just because she's the source of her heartless doesn't mean she's exactly like it. Far from it, even," I say, "Now that and her nobody is dead, she can be revived, but I need that other soul half."

 

Then we're going there.

 

Looking around, I see an old chair close to the elder. I walk over and take a seat.

"Thank you for your hospitality, elder. You're too kind."

 

"Want to hear some stories?"

 

She scans for any lingering traces, destroys those, then waits.


She smiles.
"I suppose now that you've had your holiday season thoroughly ruined, I may as well throw you a present of my own... Not that you'll appreciate it."
She taps the core of her axe with a claw.
"...Bah, who am I kidding, you're fooling yourself. You knew I never had her soul half. Besides, what does it matter? You're blaming a soldier for killing, yet acting like being a genocidal demon's an excuse to hold a massacre of your own. Hell, you don't even know if the person you were really trying to save is still alive."

You have about a ten minute walk to think about how you're going to get across the lake, and before you say swimming, the frigid waters haven't had a chance to warm up again since sunrise.

He nods, sitting up and looking at you intently.

 

"You were hired to kill Abigail?" I ask.
