Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It can't take that long, can it? It's just two people fighting."

 

Gaia looks at the tree, entranced with a solemn expression.

"I guess. I wonder if I'd be able to trade the art for something in the future. Like... a desk that can catch my stuff if I fall asleep or something."

It's practically two demigods fighting. If history repeats itself, it could take months for both of them to tire.

 

Artemis and I share a concerned look, but don't do anything.

 

"You could get a weirdly-shaped desk, but it'd be uncomfortable. Though, you can sell art. Art goes for a lot to the right buyer, and considering that you've been to the Shadow Palace, you're no stranger to planet-travel."

 

Ihra glances at Tirra.
"...Maybe we shouldn't keep them in the dark, now that Gaia's here?" She whispers.


A tear runs down Gaia's face, splashing down on the ground beside the group.

"I don't know what to buy, though. Do you think they'd find a way to make a special desk just for my purposes?"

 

"Certainly. They've got tons of stuff to work with."

 

"I'd rather you told them." Tirra says.


Most of the group seems pretty surprised by it, Katie looking at the tear.

 

"Ugh. Our territory is probably gonna be destroyed after that month."
*sigh*
"Nothing we can do about it."

 

"I might go over and ask after I finish this one, thanks."

Ihra nods.


Gaia keeps staring at the tree, eyes welling up but Spring soon going over and keeping any tears from falling on the group.
"Uhm... Aj, everyone? Just... I was going to keep my mouth shut, but the fae aren't singing any carols... it's a dirge."

If she's gone, then I think it's a worthy trade. We may have to start over, but we won't have to start from scratch ever again.

 

The group looks at Ihra, surprised.

There's a sound of footsteps from behind Gaia.

 

"No problem. It's nice to help."

 

She seems too distracted to notice, just staring at the tree.

"Mortimer can back me up on this, that tree's a memorial in disguise."

She nods.
"Well... thanks again for getting that for me. I should finish this painting before I fall asleep again."

 

Mortimer nods.

"How cute." A familiar voice says.

 

Ihra seems startled, standing up quickly as her tomes begin spinning around her, turning slowly.

 

"How about we make this viking themed?" Abigail asks, throwing a fireball from behind Gaia at the tree.

The elites draw their weapons, standing ready against Abigail.

"Aw, you guys think you have a chance against me." Abigail says.

 

"Yeah, no problem."
I hand her the paintbrush.
"Can I ask you a question, first?"

 

The fireball turns to stone and stops before it even gets halfway to the tree, Gaia standing up.

"I don't think we have a chance against you... I know we do." Ihra growls.
"Let's see how you get out of being locked to my domain." Xlentia cackles from the end of the hall.

"Sure, what is it?" She asks, already starting to mix paints again.

 

"Oh, you think it's just me?" Abigail asks, as various light grey creatures appear around her. Some look like samurai, others odd dancers, and some even sharks, swimming through the floor.

Abigail surrounds herself with ball of extremely hot fire, her chakrams flying out randomly attempting to cut anyone around that isn't a nobody.

 

"Unless another Ziz appears. A worse one."

 

"Do you, by chance, know of the war that's happening on the other side of my portal?"
