Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Tenebrae doesn't have time to respond, the portal closing and sealing after Gaia is through.

 

"But this is a hobby, not work. I'm the Matriarch, everyone else does work for me."

Gaia wanders out, laying down behind the group as she looks at the tree, emotions split between relief and sadness.

 

"That doesn't mean you have to use it for work. And 'work' is a general term, anyways."

 

"I hope Mark beats her up and gives her what she deserves."

 

"So, how will it help me if I fall asleep in the middle of painting? ...Again."

Revenge would be pretty sweet, especially after all she did.

 

"Do you just, suddenly fall asleep? Not even grow tired?"

 

She nods.
"I don't notice it when I get tired when I'm painting."

 

"Ah. A desk wouldn't help all that much, in case..."
I seem to start thinking.

 

"I just find painting really relaxing. Too relaxing, I guess." She shrugs.

 

"Well, it's not all bad. You're pretty good."

 

"Oh, thanks. I didn't know that people thought I was really good until I visited the gallery in some shadow palace. I have people who look up to me, people I don't even know existed."

 

I chuckle.
"Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. And, I guess you haven't had much art to compare your's to."

 

"Pfft.. Yeah. How long do you think this fight will last? A day or something?"

 

"No, I haven't seen anyone else's works."

I'm not sure. The seas are still raging... so I'd take it that means they're still fighting. If they keep fighting, we'll see some really big waves wash over the remains of our territory.

 

"A lot of people aren't able to recreate what they see onto a canvas with good detail. Or, in most artistic cases, what they imagine."

 

"Is it really that hard? That's all I'm able to go off of."

 

"Yeah. It's just a matter of not being able to re-create it properly, really, but it's not something that a lot of people can just... do."

 

"Huh... I guess I just have some kind of natural ability or something. That's kind of neat."

 

"Clearly others thinks so as well."
I smile.

 

Artemis nudges me, and the pair of us turn around to look at Gaia.
