Artemis just sighs, holding it.


"Well, with great power comes great responsibility. I want to make sure whoever I use it on will be using it well," I say, "Though that desert soul guy sounds like a pretty good choice."

 

"Still, we should be fine with walking on two legs. We are a werewolf after all."
He starts walking in circles.

 

"Hold on, are you implying that my kingdom, and to an extent The Wastelands can be healed?"

 

It feels oddly similar to holding Myria's hand.

"Girl. I think."

"Maybe, I dunno.
If yes, Gaia.
If she can't...
then maybe not."
He seems uncertain.

You feel less tense and less sore as you walk.

Yeah, that's good. Thanks... I dunno if I could've kept my cool if I stayed down too much longer.

 

"This is...interesting. I'm certain that certain areas that thrive off of being green will take a massive hit, however..." Terrae trails off, "However, I thank you for informing me of this."

 

Artemis smiles a little.


"So where should I start looking?" I ask.

 

He nods.
"Maybe you could...
Call off attack?
Nice cafe there..."

Always food motivated, it seems.

Ihra goes back to her seat.

"The table, since you let the last few feasts go cold." She laughs.

 

"I haven't had time to start eating since I've been busy talking to you. It's why Shadow Stephanie's been so quiet." I say, grabbing some food.

Shadow Stephanie seems to have a rather large plateful of food.

 

"That cafe will soon be ours anyways. Do not fret."

 

"Hey, just tell me if you need to get out. I don't want you to go crazy when I transform."

 

I approach her carefully, smiling, and making sure not to spill any paint.

 

"Good to know that I have all my faculties together."

I look around to see if we're almost at my destination

 

I head back to the house.

 

Ihra snickers.

Your body is still there, laying on the mattress in a really odd position.
Looks like you'll be sore when you wake up.

You see a clearing in front of a valley, Solis starting to descend.
"One other thing... never speak poorly of the ground in front of Reiglynn. She's... seldom in a good mood."

She lets out a quiet snore, a paintbrush barely within her grasp. If it loosens any more, she might wind up waking herself up.

Noted. I kept my mouth shut because I figured you were busy. Didn't think you were used to accommodating for the needs of two things.

"Won't destroy it?" Ren asks, a bit worried.

 

Everyone goes silent as they all eat.

 

Spring keeps an eye on Katie, but the room is filled with the sounds of feasting.

A while later, after the group finishes most of their meals, a bittersweet melody softly echoes through the room, Spring immediately joining in.


Ali, hood still pulled tightly over her face, approaches the gates of the Shadow Palace.
"U-uhm... is the palace still hiring chefs?"

 

The group looks for the source of the melody.


"Yes, though you'll have to meet with the king or queen in order to be assigned the job, if they see you fit enough to work." The guard says.

 

It's outside.


Ali pauses.
"...Do you think the other workers would tolerate a disciple of light?"

 

The group seems to full to move much, only Aeris who had a light meal able to float outside to see.


"There have been adjustments in the past for Guardians used to working in high-light conditions to work here, so I'm sure they'll be able to." The guard says.

 

The melody leads her outside to the palace entry, doors wide open to reveal a supermassive holiday tree (lit and decorated) with a chorus of fae thousands strong.


Ali nods.
"The king's asked me to work here multiple times, now... It wasn't until recently I considered the opportunity, mostly in fear I would be executed for the slightest mistake."
