The floor is cold, but the cave air is fresh and warm. Strange...

I agree. Being stuck for so long really dulls the bestial instincts.

 

"She'd never harm you though. You're her friend, even I've been able to get mad or critisize her and she hasn't had me executed." Artemis says.

 

She sighs.
"...I'll... think about it..." She mumbles.

 

Artemis walks away a little downtrodden, heading over to Shadow Stephanie and I and sitting down next to me.

 

She can see Ali leave the room, pulling her hood tightly over her snout.

Ihra blinks in, smiling.
"What did you all get from Petunia?"

 

Artemis just leans on me, depressed.


"I got something extremely valuable, though I fear making it publicly known will endanger me as well as it's use." I say.

"Got some sweet blood." Shadow Stephanie says, holding up her bottle of blood.

Katie pauses her eating to point at Spring happily.

The elites each show off their gifts, Aeris proudest of all.

 

Ihra smiles.
"Wow, you look like a real angel!" Ihra says happily, giving Artemis a worried glance.


"I'm a good gift, right?" Spring whispers to Katie.

 

Aeris smiles happily.

Artemis just seems to be leaning on me, looking depressed.


"Yeah, you're a great gift!" Katie says happily.

 

Ihra walks over to her.
"Did you not get anything?"

She links to you.
"I suppose you're thinking Amethyst with this one?"


Spring smiles.
"Hopefully I can meet your family sometime. You know, after you get better. I've never met a real pirate before!"

 

"Huh? Oh, I got to see mother..." Artemis says, sounding down.

"Yeah, I don't know who else really." I respond.


"I wanted to go see them soon anyway, so I could bring you along!" Katie says happily.

 

“It doesn’t really matter. Small things.”
I wave my hand dismissively.
“See you around.”
I start making my way to what was/is the Mantis Palace.

 

"...Is that it?" Ihra asks, confused.

"There's still options. There's a blind mute who can only communicate by cutting into someone's soul wandering somewhere in a desert, for instance."


"Ooh, yeah! That'd be fun!"

The vine structure is still there, but there's tons and tons of dye bowls scattered just about everywhere. It's hard to walk and not bump one and/or spill paint on the vines.

The Matriarch is dozing off at the canvas, palette now upside-down on her foot.

 

"Yeah." Artemis says.

"I dunno, I feel like we've got a more personal connection with Amethyst."


Katie smiles, before going back to her food.

 

Ihra looks at her, then smiles.
"I think there's something more you don't realize."

"True... hopefully the creatures of light haven't already turned her into a mecha, in that case."


Spring gets bored of watching Katie and goes off to get her own food, eating relatively tiny portions.

 

"What?" Artemis asks.


"Why? Would that mess with things?" I ask.

 

Ihra looks at Artemis a bit more.
"You look a bit different to me... like, you seem more like a death guardian."

"I dunno. I just think it'd be weird if we did it after she could hear and talk and... well, do things you need a head for."

 

"Huh?" Artemis asks, checking her necklaces.


"So...we should just leave her if she's like that?" I ask.

 

They seem more like Myria's.

"I dunno... I guess not. It just... we'd use it to give her a normal life, but a cybord head would do the same, wouldn't it? I mean, I know it's not the same, but you're looking to minimize suffering when you use the crystal, right?"

 

Artemis looks more closely at Myria's necklace.


"I guess if she's happy." I say.

 

It seems to have a bit more energy than usual within.


Pause.
"Sorry to try and use your gift. It's your call... I'm just jealous because she got me a silly hat that I could make Sgavrinn wear."
