Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, I was wondering where he ran off to. Hasn't shown up for a week or so."

"Thanks for the consolation."
The wyvern ascends before looking down.
"EVERYONE, THERE IS A STORM BREWING OUT AT SEA AND I SUGGEST YOU ALL MOVE INLAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!" He shouts, repeating himself every minute or so.

It's a small ring that seems to be adjustable. A diamond in the center makes it look like a wedding ring of sorts, but it's enchanted.

Petunia pushes other boxes towards the other elites before freezing up once Shadow Stephanie arrives.

 

Aeris puts the ring on happily.

The elites take their presents, opening them.

"It's Christmas, obviously." I say, holding my hand out toward Artemis who takes it, taking my side.

 

“Really?”
Pause.
“Good on him for taking the time to ‘read’, though.”

 

"Should we get off?"

 

Aeris finds a halo form above her head, and her wings shimmer in the twilight.
Tirra ("Miss Golem") was given a prism of sorts with a rainbow of smaller crystals inside it.
Aqui ("Miss Mermaid") got a few pieces of coral jewelry.
Mortius ("Mister Zombie") got a dragon tooth necklace and decorative skull gauntlets.
Ignia ("Miss Halfdragon") got what seems to be fake dragon fangs that go over her teeth.

Shadow Stephanie ("Miss Shadow") is given a wrapped bottle, but Petunia gives Artemis an unwrapped seed.

"I told him he could take his time. I didn't know how seriously he'd take my words." He sighs.

"No, we'll be heading inland after I spread the word."
He makes a hairpin turn and heads towards the Vyraxian ruins.

 

"Got it."
He holds on tight to the wyvern.

 

I chuckle.
“I could get him if you need him back.”

 

It takes a few minutes to fly over the remains of the forest, but the process repeats once you start flying over villages.

Finally (after shouting his message ten too many times) he turns to fly inland.
"...Sorry about that. It's probably ten times as loud for you."

"No, he's fine. I've always let him get away with pushing time constraints."

 

Aeris flaps her wings a bit, delighted.

Tirra hovers the prism in front of her, watching whatever light there is reflect from the crystals.

Aqui happily puts her jewelry on, smiling.

Mortius examines the necklace, a slightly saddened expression on his face, before putting on the skull gauntlets and looking them over, pleased.

Ignia slips on the fangs excitedly, breathing a bit of fire for fun.

Shadow Stephanie unwraps the bottle and examines what's inside it.

Artemis happily accepts the seed, looking it over with detail.

 

“All right. Hey, a friend wanted me to ask you something.”

 

"Eh.. I heard I can scream quite a lot too, so it wasn't that bad. For me atleast."

 

A few shimmering bits of twilight fall from her wings as she moves them around.

The crystals glimmer and scatter bits of multicolored light about the floor, but it doesn't seem to serve any other purpose than being decorative.

Ignia's fire winds up reaching twice as far as usual.

The bottle is marked "Blood of the High Phoenix."

The seed starts growing on Artemis' hand, forming a small viewing window of sorts into a black abyss.


Myria's soul is disturbed from its rest.
"Othersoul... I am Idhaenna, the goddess of every spirit to grace this reality. I am in danger, and would like to propose something to guarantee your safety."
Pause.
"You will see your daughter one last time, but it will be the last you see of anything. I will put your spirit to rest once and for all, before the Hive Master claims me and turns you against your family."

"Oh? What is it... and if you don't mind me asking, who?"

Anne groans, curled up tightly.
"Well, that's good. One out of two isn't too bad, I guess."

 

"Thank you. I indeed like it." Terrae says, putting the prism down on the nearest table.

 

Ren smiles before glancing around awkwardly and looking embarrassed.
"...I'll, uh... leave." He says before cloaking.

 

“It’s a request from Emerald, the librarian at the Void Palace as well as Xlentia’s advisor.”

 

"...Who?"

 

"So.. do you know where we're going?"

 

“Yeah, that’s what I thought... you have absolutely no idea what’s going on on the other side of that portal, do you?”

 

Terrae is going to contact Xlentia.

 

"I really don't, no."

She seems unable to be reached telepathically. Perhaps an in-person visit is in order?

"I have a contact in the mountains. He's not that bright, but strength talks out there and he's got plenty."
