Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I turn to Sarin.
"Yes, I am Eras. I'm guessing you want to go to the Void Palace?"

 

"Aj... whaaaat are you doooinnng..."
And she's out. Convenient timing.
Rineth's still looking around.

"Yes... kind of. I heard there was a chance someone would have an extra staff. Mine was broken in combat, and I was hoping to be able to get rid of this makeshift wand."
She pulls out a switchblade, makes the blade glow slightly with a dark aura, then puts it away.

 

I pick up Ihra and hold her over my left shoulder, leaving my right hand free to attack with Shadow Katana.

"Somethings after us, and it has Abigail." I say.

 

"I can't guarantee if there will be one, but there might be. Yes, I can take you to the Void Palace."

 

"What?!"
Rineth reverts, standing back-to-back with you.
"I beg your forgiveness... I shouldn't have distracted myself. Do you know anything about this opponent?"

 

"Thank you... it'd be a great help to be able to use more powerful spells without melting my claws... and I can't fulfill my duty without one. There's always that crap... Ugh.

Sorry, it just feels good to be out of that hellhole. Didn't mean to rant."

 

"Well, it seems to be hidden for the most part, and it's knocked Ihra out with a dart." I say, sheating Shadow Katana to show Rineth the dart in Ihra's neck.

 

"Can you trace the portals?"
Rineth's braces start glowing. Spectral blades flicker in and out of view.

 

"Doesn't seem like it. I usually can, but there isn't any trace of the portals existing." I say worriedly.

I look over to Stephanie and Artemis. Thankfully, they're still there.

 

"Make sure they know what just happened. See if Stephanie can create some sort of protective field."

 

I carefully lay Ihra on the ground, before running over to Artemis and Stephanie.

"Artemis, Stephanie, something's after us!" I say hastily.

"What? What do you mean?" Stephanie asks.

"It got Abigail, and it hit Ihra with a sleeping dart! Rineth said you should make a shield to protect us!" I say.

"Alright, I'll see what I can do." Stephanie says, running back over to Rineth and Ihra with Artemis.

"This isn't good." Artemis says, carefully removing and observing the dart in Ihra's neck.

 

"To say the least. We still need Abigail back in one piece, but I'll reiterate, I prioritize Ihra's safety."

The dart seems to be a potent sedative.

 

Stephanie summons a rather large purple crystal in front of her, before putting her hands on it. She focuses, and the crystal begins glowing; a shield surrounds the party in a small area.

"Who do we know that could be after us? Possibly working together with someone of this world to get not only us, but Ihra too?" Artemis asks, pondering.

"...No, no it couldn't be him..." I say to myself, thinking.

"That's not possible..." I say nervously.

 

"Hey Stephanie, you're good with plants and liquids right? Think you could make an antidote for whatever's in that dart?"

 

"Who?" Rineth asks telepathically.
"Your secrets are safe with me."

 

"I should be able to." Stephanie says, taking the dart from Artemis and pouring what's left of the sedative in a phial.

Stephanie takes a rather gross looking eyeball of sorts and puts it into the phial with the sedative, before filling the rest with water from a blue crystal.

Stephanie digs a small hole in the ground, placing a red crystal within. The crystal ignites into a rather hot flame, and Stephanie summons a small crystal golem. Stephanie gives the phial to the golem, who holds it over the fire.

"Well, there exists a child whose mother was a Light Creature, and father a Shadow Creature. They call him the Twilight Being, and we've had a...less than friendly encounter with him. I thought I'd removed him from time completely, but it'd explain why I couldn't trace the portals. It would also explain why he's also after Ihra, he's silver tounged; it'd not be too far fetched to think he's working with Xlentia or the fragments for some kind of reward." I respond.

"I really hope it isn't him." I add.

 

"I doubt Xlentia would give him any reward, unless being destroyed was his desire... Would he hesitate to kill Abigail?"

 

"He's not that quick to strike. He probably has a greater scheme, and is keeping Abigail for a reason; no doubt torturing her, however." I respond.

"Also, when I said he's silver tounged, I meant it almost literally. I'm sure he could get something from Xlentia; no matter how high her standards are." I add.

 

"I'd like to see that happen..."

OOC: We going to write out a conversation between them?

 

"He's very powerful, do not underestimate him. With what he has, I'm sure Xlentia would reward him even for his service alone." I respond.
