Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Eve doesn't seem to be anywhere near.

The guards open the gates for Ihra.

 

Ihra leaves a split-clone near the guard as she keeps charging into the palace.
"Where is he right now?"

 

"The game room, with Artemis." The guard says.

 

"I'm not the one going around killing innocents for my own good!"

 

Ihra's split clone dissolves as she rushes to the game room, knocking on the door rather forcefully once she arrives.

"Do you ever question who your targets are when you take contracts?"

 

There's a short pause, before Artemis opens the door.

"Yes?" Artemis asks.

 

"He's okay, now, right?!" Ihra asks, resisting the urge to put a hole in the door.

 

"Mostly." Artemis says, glancing back into the room.

 

Ihra seems a bit flustered.
"...Let him know that I'm sorry for going a bit overboard with his empowerment. I can't stay here..."

 

"I do. I'm still the one who decides if I take them out or not."

 

"Why not?" Artemis asks, confused.

 

"Yet you have a reputation of never failing to carry through a contract. You always choose to kill."

"Because the attack on Gaia was a diversion!"

 

"A diversion? From what!?" Artemis asks, shocked.

 

"He's going after a different high god with most of his forces. He baited us into exhausting what we had trying to back Gaia up while he never bothered to mind control any of them!" She says, even more flustered.

 

"That's because I hand pick the ones that need to be done."

 

"Who is he going after?" Artemis asks.

 

"The only other high god he doesn't have control of is Idhaenna, which... would also be bad for us if he mind controls her. She's kind of like Gaia crossed with Xlentia-level power over souls."

"What is she the god of?" Artemis asks.

 

"Skies, mostly, but she's also sort of like our Mortius."

 

"I would believe you. There was probably a reason why there was a contract on their heads."
