"Well, that's good to know then." He laughs

 

"Don't make too many deals, though. I'm surprised one left you without a curse."

 

"The opposite. Getting your soul half back in exchange for Abigail's." Eve says.

 

"Don't worry. She just needs to store some stuff, it's not really a deal."

 

Ruby glares at Eve.
"...So why was Ihra threatened with execution?"

"I hope, for your sake..."

 

"Stress." Eve says.

 

Ruby sighs.
"Then if you want me back at the palace, you'll have to drag me back."

 

"Really, I'll be fine."

 

He reluctantly nods.
"Be careful how close to the heart of a witch you stray."

 

"I'm not going to drag you back." Eve says.

 

"You just gotta take a risk every now and then."

 

"Then I'm not going back."

"Well, I can say with certainty you're making a bad decision." Eve says.

 

"That's my decision. I know what I am doing."

 

"Then you'd drag me back there."

They sigh, saying nothing more.

Anne stretches.
"Well, you going to check on your pack?"

 

"No. You can co-operate, get your soul half back, and be free to live your life as you want. Or, you can stay like this, and I'll most likely be sent out to find and capture you and drag you back to the palace. Once there, Abigail's heart and soul half will be ripped out of you with little to no regard of whether you survive or not." Eve says.

 

"And if I destroy both myself and Abigail?" She challenges.

 

"I'd try my best to prevent that from happening. In the worst case scenario, I would guess that Shadow Stephanie would request her Goddess of Darkness to speak to the God of Time to see if there was any way for my failure to save you and Abigail to be prevented." Eve says.

 

Ruby seems annoyed, but nods.
"So, you're supposed to keep watch over me without bringing me back into the palace?"

 

Eve nods.

"So you don't get killed by one of the numerous deadly creatures in the wild." Eve says.
