Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Just about every god was still pretty worked up about it at the meeting." Ihra shrugs. "Except Mortius, of course. I don't know if he can ever be bothered by anything."

 

"I think he's past being able to be annoyed, though I'd hate to see him actually annoyed. I heard stories he wasn't always a skeletal, reapery type guy, like he was once alive or something, though I doubt they're true." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Well... I mean, usually creatures start as something other than a skeletal being before they get that way."

 

Shadow Stephanie shrugs.

"He's death incarnate. Seems fitting he'd be like that." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"I guess... I feel like death incarnate would be related to life incarnate, though."

 

"Why?" Shadow Stephanie asks, confused.

 

"It just seemed to make sense in my head. Like, you have Xlentia and Virei'tus who are brother and sister, children of twilight. Life and death would probably stem from the same thing as well."

 

"As far as I know none of the gods are related familialy." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Huh... that seems a bit odd. It's like coincidentally finding someone who was so much like you."

 

"Alright, time to get up."
He jumps up and stands straight.
"Hmpf."
He tries to get some of the water out of his ears and does some stretches.

 

Your clothes are soaked, you're a bit cold, and your axes are partially buried in the sand, but other than that it feels like every other morning.

 

"I guess. Life and Death are complete opposites though." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"But it's hard to have one without the other."
Pause.
"...I'm just wasting time at this point. Maybe I should head to Xlentia's bunk room and crash for a bit."

 

"Yeah, I have...stuff...to do." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"I'll have to ask Anne if she could dry my clothes later."
He walks towards Anne and the dragons.

 

Ihra hugs Shadow Stephanie again.
"Hang in there. We can only work with what we have."

Anne's awake and on Siln's back, the other dragons resting except for the wyvern.
"Hey, hon." Anne says, looking over.

The wyvern turns.
"Rough night?"

 

"You too." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling.

 

Ihra waves, starting to head out before stopping at the doors of the throne room.
"One other thing, do you remember a mantis Matriarch?"

 

"Uh, yeah, kind of. The one in the ruined world, right?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"Yeah. Something about she wanted to see her old works and had more to put in the gallery. Should I go tell her that it's okay?"
