"You seem to assume I haven't already done that." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"I'd like to think you would expect me not to read your mind by now."

 

"I would've thought your mind reading would be more advanced at this point." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"I thought mind reading was Emerald's thing. Did I used to try and read your mind?" Ihra asks, confused.

 

"Ugh, whatever." Shadow Stephanie says, rolling her eyes.

 

Ihra falls silent, resting her head on Shadow Stephanie's shoulder for a moment.
"...Sorry if I did in the past. Thanks for not executing me."

 

"You know I wasn't actually going to, right?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

...yeah, can I see the list of rules for what I can or can't do in the spiritual plane?

 

"Fooled me. I got even more scared when Artemis went in the palace and a guard joked that she was dead."

Fight using spectral weapons
Essentially fly

You cannot -
Use weapons without a spectral component
Eat or drink
Do actual damage to another soul without a weapon
Interact with physical objects

 

"Which guard?" Shadow Stephanie asks, curious and slightly serious.

 

*copies list into notes*
I'll just let them leave then.

 

"Uhm..."
Pause.
"...you can read minds, right?"

 

"Not remotely. Only while possessing or empowering a being." Shadow Stephanie says, "Psychic powers aren't exactly a Shadow's strong suit, unless you're a Shadow Guardian."

 

A few stay near their bodies, but a couple more flee.

Now's a good time to get a good look at your surroundings, or at least get an idea of what you'll do when the sun rises again.

"Empower me for a moment, then. I don't know how to describe them."

 

Shadow Stephanie empowers Ihra, a burst of strength flowing through her.

 

Shadow Stephanie can see the two guards that were there when Artemis entered, later the image switching to Ihra pretending to be asleep and watching Eve and the guards going after Miorah.

 

Shadow Stephanie leaves Ihra.

"Alright, thanks. I'll...see to that." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"...And if you'd let her apologize, Miorah really isn't so bad." Ihra adds.

 

"You mean Eve?" Shadow Stephanie asks.
