Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Why don't you make her lurk in Abigail for a while?"

 

"Because she'd likely be found and killed rather swiftly." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Any other ideas on figuring out what they're up to?" Ihra presses. "I'm sure that something that can distort space can get by..."

 

"Attempting to get hearts, I'd assume. Seeking for the part of them that'd make them whole again. Honestly, at this point I just want to get Abigail back, wherever her soul half is." Shadow Stephanie says, sighing.

 

"...but you know where it is. She has half of her soul, and the other half's in Ruby. I think that's what I heard, at least..."

 

"I thought Ruby just had her heart, and your alternate self had her soul half." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"No, Iris has half of Ruby's soul. Remember? Ruby took the hit for Abigail."

 

"Oh, right, we need that to save the pair of them." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Yeah. Of course, that requires chasing down one super dangerous version of a friend and then chasing down another super dangerous version of another friend. I feel like you could pull out a fantasy book somewhere and read about something like that..."

 

"We must stay vigilant, Nemmek. Always be wary in times of war."

I begin to look out into the forest

 

He snorts in response.

You can't see much through the trees, but the footsteps don't seem to be getting any closer.
That either means they're looking to cut off the path you took, or hit the village directly.

 

"Ugh.."
He looks at Rema.

 

She's asleep, but she's coiled up a bit, head resting on her back.

 

"She's gotta watch out that she doesn't drown in the waves."

 

"Just as much as two Shadows fighting a gigantic army of light creatures, making it through their defences and killing the king and queen?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

I run to the commander again.

"Sir! How fast can you get a regiment to the village?"

 

"We've yet to settle down. Do you think they're moving towards the village?"

"Considering Aj got his ass handed to him, I'm going to go with more than that."

Her head's well above the waves. The tide would have to rise an extra couple feet for the water to reach her snout.

 

"I just hope Abigail doesn't get to anyone else." Shadow Stephanie says, sighing.

 

"In that case, maybe you should put Ruby somewhere... well, if not safe, monitored?"

 

"Apparently she's run off into the wild, Eve couldn't find her in the city. I doubt she'll last long out there, unfortunately." Shadow Stephanie says.
