Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Artemis doesn't come out of the palace for a long while.

 

"Of course. She has a pristine reputation, and she's older than any war we've ever known. As for the forest, it's fine."

Ihra's gaze shifts to the guard, fear in her eyes.

 

The guard responds with a stern expression, clearly not going to let her into the palace.

 

"I see. Raygyon is an interesting case. She's been helping me with my visions. I feel she is a great asset."

I dismount from Nemmek and walk closer to Solis

 

He glances at you before holding a feather up above a campfire.
"Don't expect to use her. It's as disgusting as exploiting any other elder."

Ihra just keeps staring, eyes starting to go blank.

 

The guard just stands on duty.

 

"I never intended to use her. She can come and go as she pleases. Either way, trapping her would most likely be...difficult."

I shift uncomfortably by the campfire

 

Miorah glances at Ihra, then the guard.
"I'm assuming the order to execute fell through?"

Solis lets go, and the feather floats over the fire.
"Treat her like you would treat one of us."

 

"I assure you I will, Elder Solis. I hope you approve of my lessons with her, and do not see them in a bad light."

I move away from the campfire to return to the forest on Nemmek

 

The guard doesn't reply.

 

The feather ignites.
"My approval is unnecessary. Your affairs with Ragnyon are yours and yours alone; it is up to you to decide how seriously you take her lessons."

Miorah sighs.
"You know it's a clusterfuck when Tenebrae talks more than a mortal." She says, turning to Ihra.
"Yeah..."

 

The guard doesn't respond.

 

The duo just wait, Ihra praying to Tenebrae for safety while Miorah just grows a flower to sit on.

 

Ihra doesn't feel any responses from Tenebrae.

 

She just keeps praying, to Tenebrae for Aj's safety, to Gaia for Katie's safety, to Praecantatia for Stephanie's safety... and to Mortius for her own safety.

 

The only response she feels is a deathly chill down her spine.

 

She shakes before hugging Miorah, who confusedly hugs her back.

 

There's the sound of rustling nearby, though it only appears to be a forest guardian picking up dry leaves.

 

It startles Ihra, but Miorah doesn't seem to mind.
"...Maybe we should leave before things go further south."
"B-but Artemis..."

 

"And how do you plan on doing that? My priority is to help Gram. If you can't do that, then I don't know how you could help."
