Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"He went to defend Gaia and almost died." The guard says calmly.


"I'm sorry you turned into such a pissy whore. Did you finally go through puberty?" Shadow Stephanie asks, flame drawing closer.

There's no response, though not through ignoring the telepathic connection. It seems I cannot respond.

 

Ruby stops to think, unable to come up with a response.


"No, just taking after you." She smirks, tapping her staff.
"...Heartless."

 

The guards just wait.


Shadow Stephanie's expression changes to a more serious one, the guards' grip on Ihra's arms turning from light to arm-breakingly strong as heat begins to come from a now very real flame.

"You take that back." Shadow Stephanie says, serious.

 

"We might have found someone to do that, but that's my little secret. You'r save, that's what counts."

 

"...Can the queen help?"


"I'm done playing games. I've had enough of you threatening my friends, and I don't care if you claim you meant it jokingly. I'm sick of anyone looking up to you when all you do is insult everyone else and put yourself above them."
She smiles.
"It's low when a mother-killer has more honor than you do. And if I have to die fighting for what I believe in, then taking down a tyrant queen before she turns into an alternate Hive Master is worth every tear shed by everyone who will spite you for my death."

"...Thanks, but I don't know if I can accept that answer."

 

"Why is that?"
He cleans some of the fruits, rubbing them against his clothes.

 

You feel a bit sticky.
"It just feels... weird."

 

"She may be able to, though she's currently in a meeting with someone." The guard says.


"Get her out of my sight." Shadow Stephanie commands.

One of the guards grabs Ihra tightly around the neck, choking her while dragging her out of the throne room and the palace, before throwing her toward the gates, the palace doors slamming behind the guard.


Artemis runs over to Ihra, vines gently winding around her neck like a necklace as they heal her.

"Oh my god, Ihra, are you alright?" Artemis asks, worried.

 

"..why?"
He blows on the fruits, getting some of the dirt off.

 

"With wh-"
Ruby stops.
"...No way..."


"Something's wrong with Shadow Stephanie..." She sighs, glaring at the palace gates. "She's not the same nice person I once knew."

"You can't fly. How would you even be able to talk with the Ziz?"

 

"Family, friends... She doesn't like dragons."

 

The guard raises an eyebrow.


"She hasn't seemed any different to me recently." Artemis says, confused yet concerned.

 

"What family? The guardians live alone!"

"...I'll... I'll figure it out. I... I'll just get executed if I ask for her help."


"She ordered my execution... I need to leave. Now."

 

"What do you mean?" The guard asks, puzzled.


"She what!? L-Let me talk to her, she can't be serious." Artemis says, shocked.

 

Ruby shakes her head, running off in fear.


Ihra shakes her head.
"I don't want you to go on your own." She says, worried.

 

He chuckles.
"No, my friends and family."

 

"You found your family?!"

 

"Kinda, she knew my dad. I count her as family."

 

"So... your aunt?"

 

"No, she wasn't his sister. She said she was his 'mother'. Which is weird, cause she wasn't human or werewolf."
