Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Worth it." I say.

The crystals on Artemis' bow glow faintly.

 

"No... Not for me. Pretty sure your friend would shoot me if I let you."

There's a crystal as a centerpiece on a jeweled crown-like headband she's wearing. It's faintly glowing according to Artemis' bow.

A dark creature hits the ground near you, dead to a cross-cut from Rineth's blades.

 

"I wouldn't." Artemis says, smiling. Artemis' bow, however, remains drawn.

"Coooooooool." I say, observing the creature.

"Tell me to not underestimate you." Stephanie says to Rineth.

 

"Then I... Your friend is interesting, to say the least, miss."
She hands you the knife despite her earlier considerations.

"Stephanie, it's still me. If you wouldn't underestimate a collosal dragon, then there's no difference."
An energy blade from his wrist illuminates the area.

 

I lick the knife happily, despite the negative effects it brings.

"There's a small chance I was underestimating a colossal dragon." Stephanie says.

 

Rineth chuckles.
"I hold nothing against you. I still know my role, my place. I don't know if being here in-person helps, but I'm sorry for the scare with Abigail."

You're rather numb after a few licks. The blood is so dry and thick, it's hardly sharp- yet the negative effects are a bit stronger than you originally anticipated.

 

"Do you have any sentimental values for this blade?" I ask, "And can I have it if not?"

"It's fine...I guess," Abigail says, "But being inside the mouth of a dragon isn't exactly the calmest experience."

 

"No, it's just something I took off a corpse when my staff broke. You could have it if I ever find another good staff."

"I understand. I still don't expect forgiveness."

 

"You could use Ihra's." I say, grinning and tossing back the knife.

Abigail slowly walks over and hugs Rineth.

 

On eating the flower, Sgavrinn finds that it tastes sweet. Very sweet. Then spicy? Then it has a savoury taste? Finally, it tastes like a normal flower.
The white creature turns to Sgavrinn and... speaks?
It says, "That was a Speech flower. If you wish to, you can attempt to communicate with me and we will sound as if we are speaking each other's tongues."

 

"No, that's bound to her. I can't carry it."

Rineth pats Abigail on the back gently.
"This is... one of many cultural differences. Maybe Ihra's not so strange after all."

 

"Hmm, I wonder if the group will be coming back any time soon," I say absentmindedly.

"Hmm, I wonder if the group will be coming back any time soon," I repeat, with a lot of emphasis on the words, as if I think that I can be heard (and am being ignored).

I grumble to myself about them darn kids.

 

"I don't- wh- huh?! Uh... Hi?"

 

Abigail just hugs Rineth tightly.

Stephanie puts a white crystal to her forehead.

You suddenly have a vision. You see an old man, leaning out a window. He shouts, "You damn kids, get the F off my lawn!"

You notice a pair of children picking up a rather large letter 'F' off the old man's lawn before the vision ends.

Stephanie giggles to herself.

"I think we should head back to where the others are." Stephanie says.

 

He hugs back.

Sarin looks at Stephanie.
"A fellow sorceress? What's your practice?"

 

Abigail seems to appreciate the hug, "Thanks." She says sincerely, pulling away.

"I'm a bit of everything really. Though, more recently, I've been honing my skills in Golemancy, Voodoo and Alchemy." Stephanie says.

 

"Them yung fellers better be bayck soon, this here tea is gettin' raight cold now," I say, mimicking the old man's voice.

 

Sarin nods.
"I can respect golemancy and alchemy. I assume my title says what magic I practice."

Rineth takes a step back, glancing around.
"She's close. We should get out of the Void."

 

"Uhm...yeah!" Stephanie says nervously.

"We don't want any boss battles where the boss gets an environment buff." Abigail says.

Artemis glares at Abigail, "Please try to discern real life and video games." Artemis says.

"I think we should just leave." I say.

 

More flowers start growing around the white creature.
"Uh... oh well. I forgot that it might do that. Oh, and I'm Hryth, a Cloud Dragon."
