"One permits return to a more peaceful life, the other is... a fate many fear much more than death."

"Yeah, I tried to cauterize a bit of the wound, so he's bleeding less."

 

"A more peaceful life? What if they return to their family and they aren't recognized? They're outcast? They lose their sense of self and pride of being?" Praecantatia asks.

 

"That has yet to happen. Besides, the phoenix is only a temporary body."

 

"And how do they escape it?" Praecantatia asks.

 

"They show reluctance to fight."

 

"Good job."
He looks at Gram, looking if he's awake or not.

 

Definitely asleep.
"Thanks... turns out dragons can groan when asleep."

 

"Well...ok. It was nice to meet you, Ragnyon."

 

"I mean.. they still feel it."

 

"Same. I'll see you tomorrow?"
The dragon puts the mixture over your wound. It stings a bit, but quickly numbs.

"Right, but I'd think they would wake up."

 

"Maybe it doesn't hurt that much to wake him up, but still enough for him to react to it. I don't know."

 

"Either way, I decided to stop. I don't really want to piss him off too much."

 

"I got some fruit for him. Hope he likes it."

 

"He'd probably like anything at this point. Did Rema ever come back?"
Rema already left, it seems.

I get my companions to return to the infirmary

 

She chuckles.
"I wouldn't call it medicine. Don't think too hard about it, and sleep well." She says, spitting in the bowl before the dragon licks it clean.

Wesley wheels you off.
"I'm not sure how I feel about the demeanor of a pup belonging to a fully grown dragon. I would say he's dangerous, but at the same time he wouldn't harm a soul."

 

"I understand, Wesley. Your observations are most appreciated. Now, what do you think she meant by 'not medicine'?"

 

He pauses.
"Well, she mixed spit and blood in a bowl, then put it on your shoulder. Neither of them were willing to touch the liquid themselves, either."

 

"Uh. Yeah. But it seems like she already left."
