"I mean that I've seen many friends die in front of my eyes. If it is my time, then so be it."

"I'll know if you did, anyways. I can track everything from this house."

 

"Fair enough."
He relaxes, sipping his tea.

 

"I see. In which case, I hope you can make yourself comfortable out here. I'll send a servant in the morning to check."

I sit back in the stretcher, while signalling Devarra to take me back to the infirmary

 

She went to get Ragnyon a bowl.
"Okay, thank you."
Pause.
"...How hard is it to get a bowl?"

"I'll see you later, eventually, probably." She says, getting up and leaving the room, a door closing minutes later.

 

"See ya!"
He calls, still drinking.

 

He's left with a half-filled teapot, his teacup, and an empty teacup in front of where Alice was sitting.

 

He patiently drinks, trying to spot the door Alice closed.

 

"Devarra is usually quick about this...she should be back by now."

Hoping he's in earshot, I shout "Wesley!"

 

Probably her bedroom door that's upstairs.

"Strange. Any idea what's going on?"

He peeks around the corner.
"I thought you wanted me to not be here?"

 

Voidfiller finishes his tea, then gets up to walk around the house, looking around.

 

"Uh.. yeah. Thank you."

 

"I personally would have chose something different if she was my daughter, but I believe her name is fitting enough." Caelia says.

 

The living room has basic furniture and a tv, though it doesn't appear to have been used. There's another room that's been converted to parasol storage, with at least a hundred different designs hanging on the walls.

"It seems to hide who she actually is, and I could see how everyone knowing you were a demigod would be a problem."

The kid runs off, leaving the door open.

You gonna snag something, or wait and deal with his parents?

 

"We'll see how this goes. If they have some sort of food I could have, I'll take it. If not.. I guess I'll need to find a different way to get food."

 

Mister noble, huh? Well, I guess I'm still getting used to this acting civilized gig...

The boy returns with his mother.
"Oh, it is you. Did you come to take refuge from the fire?" She asks.

 

"Uhm.. no, not really."
Pause.
"I have a friend of mine who went missing a few days ago. We found him, but he is underfed and in need of water and food."

 

Voidfiller silently heads upstairs, looking around.

 

"She didn't even know she was until recently." Caelia says.

 

"I don't have anything to spare, but I could ask around. Does he need any medical attention?"

"Then it's a good name."

"She said we're welcome to visit." Gaia says, removing her hands from her head.
